@ OP: technically they did nerf Amarr too; the locus rig fix sort of sucks. Of course I think that hit Minmatar too so :p

Javelin got a 50% range boost didn't it, along with a 10% damage reduction - not sure where this "50% reduction in range" comes from?...

Javelins will now add 50% to your range, previously it seem they just added an arbitrary amount. This really doesn't effect torpedoes much but for rockets and HAMs it's a major change and one I think necessary. You have rockets that are small short range weapons that go 10km normally(most other weapons are <3km, rockets have **** damage though) now they'll go to 15(as opposed to other weapons which are <10KM), seems more balanced then firing rockets to 30KM like they did previously.
Although it indirectly nerfs a few ships which were undervalued to begin with. |

On TQ, javelin torpedoes have a 50% range increase, so this is no different. However, they did boost the damage of javelin torpedoes. They also made rage torpedoes a viable option by replacing the huge drawback (cap recharge) with a minor drawback (sig radius) and boosting their damage to greater than faction.
The only change to the Golem that is worrysome is the reduction in the explosion radius bonus, but only time will tell how big of an impact that is.

In other news, the Zealot and Sac will both be awesome still simply because of solid performance. The Cerberus will still be death to tiny ships. And the Drake will still be a vile and horrid coffee table with 400 hp/sec defense to its shield before invulnerability fields.

Rage torpedoes have always been viable and widely used contrary to what you might think on account of the always-gay cap recharge penalty. They are less viable now more than ever in the new patch because the explosion radius has increased from 540m to 650m.
You will need 2 target painters on a torp raven/cnr/rattlesnake/widow or very good skills with a golem to hit battleships-sized targets for full rage torp damage. Their damage was increased by 6.67% but thats definitely not in scale with a 20% increase in explosion radius. This along with the web nerf would finally encourage proper use of the Hyena, Rapier and Huginn painting abilities but it kind of sucks when you think about it; that caldari torp pilots must rely on another race's support ships for help.

Ive never used sisi, but are there any changes to web & target painting drones as it might be the only viable choice for a solo torp raven.

The irony here of course is Caldari have had very little time in the spotlight as a premier PVP race. The bigger irony is the changes won't make the problems with blasters or projectiles go away .
Though, it DOES solve the troubling issue with the precision heavy missile. Now it appears all the precision missiles have the same odd drawbacks as the precision heavy.

Yeah somehow I registered him as CCP Nohz but if the bobbit outed him right in http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=776684 he's indeed Atropos.
It's somehow comforting that it's not a player in good standing with the community responsible for ruining the game, even it really suck to see the efforts CCP will go to ruin the game.
Everything I read since I quit comfort me in my decision, especially the battle report about last Shrike death. I so miss firing one shot every minute, that's great progress they made against lag right here... |

Yup, people getting hysterical over changes without properly testing them. Combat on sisi is far different from on TQ, saying oh this ship got nerfed/buffed without taking into account all the numerous other changes is foolish.
I also cannot remember a change on sisi that people didn't freak out about and ended up to be perfectly fine. --
