whats the point of disrupting propulsion if they don't disrupt propulsion? why not just remove them from the game completely?
Let people "adapt or die," right?

boy are you wrong...
right now the paladin and kronos both give a 2% bonus per lvl of bs to web stasis effect aka an extra 10 % ontp 90% webs become 99%( should be 100% but dont work that way )
so 10% per lvl of bs = 50% bonus ontop of what the other base stasis is. IE 50% +50% = 99% ( re: 100% )
so yeah whats youre point?
Wow surprising how wrong you really are. Then again you're the same moron who petitions people for using dirty words.
Bonuses are not just added to. They are applied. So webber 50% plus the 50% if you have marauder 5 would actually be 75%
The way CCP did it (is still doing it?) is it's an added bonus, not a multiplicative bonus. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying how it is. Weird isn't it?
Last time I checked this is how it works:
TQ: .9*(1+.02*5)=.99 SISI: .6*(1+.1*5)=.9
Jason, this is based off of the Racial BS skill level, not the Maruader skill. 'Least your math is right.
Some people really *ahchoo* need to do their research before posting.

Edited by: Chum Tea on 30/10/2008 10:27:38 How about making the web bonus work on NPCs only? Call it interference caused by POD interfaces or whatever.
Edit: I want to keep the 99% on NPCs!

REGARDING OFFICER WEBS
Officer webs are meant to web at range. This is likely so a Battleship's long range guns can have a chance to hit from a distance.
Necessary more now than ever is the need to really slow down a target; especially if one is smaller than you (likely if against a battleship).
Officer webs need their long reach in order to justify the massive powergrid they demand. They have always been the pride of capital ships and warmongering battleships that are looking to pin a target down just because they are in the way.
And it works. Narrow that to 15-20km and everything from HACs to Interceptors will be untouchable once again.
Come on. Don't modify EVERYTHING just because you want something new to play with. Keep in mind we EVE players put a lot of time and effort into working out dropping a couple billion isk into a module, just to have it wiped into oblivion by the next patch. Please consider that your players are investing their ISK into modules for their FUNCTION. Not for their name.

You need some more math, and you don't understand how it works.
right now the 2% per level bonus, at lv V, means the web effect is increased by 10% of it's value.
90% web * 1.10 = 99% web.
In Sisi that's 60% web * 1.50 = 90% web. ------------------------------------------

The Paladin's web bonus is marginaly useful to me as it is right now. I only really use it in a select few missions where cruisers come in close. Off the top of my head I believe it's only against Mercenaries and Angels I fit a web, otherwise I just fit a Tracking Computer and let the drones deal with the rabble.
TBH, I'd rather have the bonus changed entirely. Maybe optimal range to make Mega Pulse IIs more viable.

The Paladin is wonky anyway .. should have been fixed from the start ... carries none of it's prime hull bonuses and some BS reason from the devs that it doesn't have to ... Remove the web bonus from the Paladin .. give it the Cap and range bonus of it's parent ship .. ATM on Sisi even a Target Painter bonus would be better than the useless web crap. |

I'm sorry Nozh, but your reasoning behind the officer range changes is flawed.
As a previous poster said, keep their current ranges and get their speed reduction to 50%. They did after all have the same effect as the bog standard t1 web so range was their only plus. Boink! |
