Respect for filling us in. Alot of online game companies has a tendency to blame the customers (check client settings, call your ISP, yada yada) and most certainly won't tell the players anything more accurate like you do. First time I see in 3year+. There's been a few issues through the years but that isn't common at all, no.
I've played most bigger and some smaller MMO's out there, I had more issues in other big titles like WAR, WoW, SWG than I had in EVE. Everquest (the first, refused to play the 2nd) was pretty stable, Lineage as well, compareable with EVE.
You were just unlucky with the timing, EVE is very stable compared to many MMO's.

Well, we can't really post an update when there isn't one. It'd be "still no news" closely followed by "nothing yet" and five minutes later "nothing to report now either" and so on.
