. IF you do the hit the AB/MWD, cloak, time it right, decloak and warp, you warp instantly with no chance to lock whatsoever -- no fancy covops cloak required. This isn't theory craft, this is reality.
That's right, but there is alot of room for error and it does happen. Lag is something that works both ways.
I'm not saying there isn't room for error (that is why I specificed properly fitted and operated), lot of people out there do stupid things .... but that is also how you catch a lot of the existing covops ships. ________________________

But not in low sec. You never catch a cov ops in low sec. I'm just saying cov ops cloak is a too much and a normal bomber cloak would be enough. ----------------------------------------- [Video] The Cruise |

Firstly they've lost their agility for this & the +2 scram so if they do get locked, they're fcked.
Secondly a bombers cloak means it's faster cloaked than uncloaked which means it actually accelerates faster than if it had a covert one which means it would escape bubbles even quicker. Now this is "supposed" to be a 0.0 ship capable of working with bops ships so a covert cloak makes sense because sometime out there in a cloaker the only way to find out if a gate is or is not clear is to warp to it at range i.e. take a gamble, you try doing that in a hauler that's lost it's agility and stabs and see how long you last.
The whole basis for your argument is that a cov ops cloak is overkill because it can warped cloaked, last time i checked there was now way to kill a ship in warp so that basically goes out the window. A bomber cloak in lowsec essentially has the same effect bar the warping cloaked, it doesn't get caught on gates, it's doesn't need to check that they're clear and it's acceleration is higher so why is cov ops overkill?
Because you can't catch it in lowsec? Boo-hoo, there are a dozen clocker ship you can't catch in lowsec which can extend to all sub caps if they're smart. It's built for 0.0 which by design is more harsh that lowsec so if it can survive in 0.0 then logically lowsec should be a walk in the park for it, which it already is (pilot depending ).
Both cloaks have the same net effect in lowsec with the bomber a marked advantage, in 0.0 the covert has the advantage, if i's meant for 0.0 the cloak that give it the greatest chance of surviving is the logical choice. Anyway how did this go from a bugged reactivation delay to a (worthless) discussion on which cloak ? Esh. -------------------------

And more importantly, the Crane got 5 powergrid, so can fit a MWD _and_ a cloak.
In this age of jump haulers, mobile bubble blowers and pos jumpbridges, blockade runners were about obselete. Covops cloaking breaths a new lease of life into them, and I'm very glad of the change.
Crane is my favourite ship, so getting that extra whammy of the grid, means I figure I probably should be finding someone to buy beer at Fanfest. -- 249km locking? |

Suck it up. It's all apart of the speed nerf YOU wanted.
Seperate issues. These changes are totally independent of the speed changes.
Actually those changes came up due to speed nerf - nerfing speed made it harder for BRs to run from bubbles. Funny how it works like domino, isnt it?
