Players in this game whine loudly enough when CCP changes the name of an item. Could you imagine if they were forced to have their addiction kept from them for a moment or two? There would be arson in Reykjavik. |

So after someone logs in the survey for that day is loaded and must be completed before continuing.
Everyone should be forced to have an informed voice in game design.
Discuss. Bad idea. I'm guessing a lot of people would click random answers just to get through it faster. |

Indeed. Most players do not give a damn; they simply play the game. If they cared enough they would bother to vote in the CSM elections, subscribe to the newsletter so they can participate in the surveys and generally try to keep up with news on the game.
No point in getting the opinion of people who don't care / know enough about the game to make an intelligent contribution .You're much more likely to get a bunch of a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a-finish type responses.
Edit: A sample newsletter can be seen here. The survey is on the right of the page; almost all the way to the bottom. |

Got a lot of bites, and the idea of writing an essay to log in is pretty funny really.
You could also force people to submit business plans before they get to use manufacturing lines (that'd stop the minerals are freetards), and posts to COAD would be replaced by epic poems. There would only be about a dozen people logged in at any time, but the quality of social discourse would rival the salons of Paris and the forums of ancient Greece. |

The next newsletter is out. It has a survey on Dust 514 in it. If you are interested in responding, do so - you may be helping to shape Dust 514.

It's a good idea for the CSM voting, but hell no to doing surveys. |

This is a bad idea.
Forcing subscribers to answer a questionaire is going to do two bad things:
1. Annoy subscribers. 2. Return survey results weighted massively in favour of whatever options are easiest to click quickly. Andreus Anthony LeHane Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Here is an example of how this idea would play out on the internet:

Question 3: What aspects of the new ship models do you find appealing? Answer: i said **** off
Question 4: Are you happy with the proposed changes to factional warfare? Please outline your reasoning below Answer: this sucks dogs balls Expansion: fofofofofofofofofofofofo
Question 5: Crucible brought 4 new battlecruisers into the Eve Online universe, how have the new tier 3 BC's effected your game play? Answer **** you ccp I'm off to play WOT

Forcing all subscribers to get a clue might be cheaper and easier.
Also the possible religious conflicts with voting no longer become an issue.

Discuss. The problem with forcing the majority of people to voice their opinions is that the majority of people are complete idiots.
This point is very well highlighted by the threads you regularly create.

That sounds like a great idea! That way, when I just want to play the game I'm paying $50 a month to play I get to be locked out until I click...

I was part of EVERY survey or questionaire from CCP. And do you think what?.. Nothing happens! Even CCP has no real interest to interprete such surveys. The last survey from the **** changes concerning the overview was useless. Was there a side or blog where we could inform us about the findings? I am realy shure, that I was not the only one who hated this crappy changes to the overview and this useless mouseOver-delay.
The survey is used from CCP to dissemble democracy to the community. NOTHING MORE! I am disappointed. |
