Well... As far as the real FW (not the fluff) goes, atm the Caldari are really not fighting *at all*... (except for some brave pilots, but they are few)
This of course makes things very boring if you are in either of the militias.
How about it CCP, boost FW rewards significantly to get some folks sign (back) up? Get the ball rolling again? This should be done rather quick IMHO before it is too late... ---

Originally by: Seriphyn Inhonores I remember from the EA novel the President went "This is a war that will be decided by our capsuleers..."
And I do remember hearing about how this new narrative is about the current 4 empire setup is going to be swept away and replaced by something else (for example, Republic + Thukker?)
So because people bumlove the militaristic/capitalistic/fascist Caldari and are currently pwning the Gallente, does that mean that, because of that, CCP will can the Federation?
Or do CCP have their own plans regardless of FW results? Just thinking about that quote from the novel...
I think since the Caldari currently resemble **** Germany occupying France [Gallente], eventually the Federation will retaliate very very massively (like in that PDF) and yeah...just like a WW2 narrative...eh I dunno *shrugs*
Why don't you go and lose a system over it... owai... Yep we're back, back again :)

Your kidding right? Sarcasm maybe?
FOOMs raids into JITA are legendary, when you shut down a 0.9 Gallente system so much so the gallentes are on these forums in a wall of tears to CCP then you can smack them.
But to give you guys some warning (cause I'm nice like that)... Were coming to a system near you! We're tired of you not coming to us, so were coming to you!

Dunno, I play WoW so I don't really know much about EVE right now (Been playing WoW for last 6 months tbh) but seems like you are trying to bait Tosi. He's a smart chap and will see thru your ebil plans of free KM's. We play with our rules and get kills we know we can get. We aren't playing by YOUR rules nubs.

If we were in it just for easy pvp kills we'd be in Tama and the likes all day. Did some of that last time, sort of amusing, gets boring rather fast but it easily rakes in kills. v0v This thread has gone south.

Edited by: Friedrick Psitalon on 05/12/2008 12:48:18 Yep, you got us, man. We don't have over thirty confirmed marauder/faction battleship kills in Perimeter, Jita and Motsu, nope. (The Faction/Officer Nightmare in Jita was just tasty.) Absolutely no threads were created wailing about us locking down all Militia traffic in both systems on one night. (There wasn't any CCP commentary/intervention in them, either.) No sir. There was NOT an Eve-News article about a Gallente raid into Nourv which smashed over 60 Caldari ships and it was NOT spearheaded by us. Nope. Not the corp you're looking for.
We are SO only PVE'rs, clearly, obviously. Carebear deluxe! Which, by the way, is a pretty ridiculous insult when you look at your own corp's FacWar stats. You run plenty of plexes yourselves. ;)
Clearly, your smack talents only extend to simple guttural insults in-game.

I probably shouldn't reply to this but what the hell...
For as much history FOOM has I guess I still don't understand why you returned to FW. I guess you like being the big fish in a little pond...but I hope you're not here just to pad your numbers (as I keep hearing).
Oh well, it's your decision, but personally I just see this as a step down for you guys. But with that said, I think it would be very interesting to see some other older corps and alliances come to FW with the sp's and resources that you do (as it's no secret that FW has a large contingency of new players). If that does happen, I hope you decide to stick around unlike last time (as I understand it you left from boredom and pressure from PL) and I tend to think history may repeat its self in this respect. (but imo only)
Also, for those who feel like bragging how no one will fight you in FW when you bring out multiple HACs and Kronos's and such, then either you don't understand the make up of players in FW or just like to brag, and I would like to think that you are better than that. If you're outmatched then it's probably a good idea not to give away an easy kill and wait till you at least have a chance right? And for the most part, I really think most of FOOM are respectable, but still don't understand why many of you refuse to reply back "gf" in local, even if you did dominate the battlefield...most pirates return this common courtesy...but to each his own right?
Well it's a game, and as long as you're enjoying yourself then I should leave it at that. This turned into more of a rant that I originally anticipated. See you around. -ct

We left last time because we had joined to complete a specific objective; the objective was completed and we moved on. In point of fact - as we documented back then - we had withdrawn before Pandemic even wardecced us. They had no impact on our decision to leave; we barely even saw them for the entirety of the dec. I don't think they would contest that, either.
As for our reasons for joining FacWar again, we have a specific objective once more, and it's not to pad our numbers. (Though I'm not entirely clear what that means - pad our roster? Our KB? Our wallets? Our codpieces?) Frankly, we think FacWar is fun. Complexes add a fascinating element to PVP; ships you would never see/use in 0.0 are common in FacWar, and that adds a variety to PVP you'd never see in blobland. Destroyers have a place. Faction Frigates have a place. Navy Vexors have a place. You'd never see those except for their comedy value in 0.0.
Yes, the majority of our foes are probably less skilled/resourced, but not all of them are - and not knowing that information in advance also makes the fighting more interesting. Sometimes you can engage at a 2-to-1 disadvantage and win tremendously; sometimes it gets you hammered. It's fun to not know which.
0.0 veterans call FacWar noobland and boring, and that's their right - but as for myself, I find it just as much fun or more fun to immediately be able to do something with a small gang/solo than to ask "Where is the POS/titan/huge blob" and try to get there.
FacWar IS a more casual game - but I don't think that makes it a less skilled or less fun one. I hope we do see more corporations returning to Facwar, but I don't imagine that will happen until the rewards improve.
As for the GF - that's a pilot decision. Some say it in local, some won't; could also be we're tracking targets/plexes in another system and we're in too much of a rush to keep moving - happens.
Thanks for contributing to the discussion in an interesting/useful/respectful manner - that was hardly a rant. Hope I've given the same respect in return. o7

Well stated and thanks for providing your perspective on the matter. Like you, I really enjoy the dynamics of FW once I got beyond the initial fascination of blob warfare. The reemergence of your corp has definitely changed the dynamic of FW again, and this fluid dynamic of a continuous changing opponent (sry redundant) is yet another reason why I enjoy FW. Besides, as an underdog I always tend to learn so much more and definitely enjoy the challenge...as the victories tend to be that much sweeter to me.
FYI, the padding your numbers comment comes from multiple people outside of FW relaying accounts of how FOOM is bolstering their kill ratio and efficiency in FW and likely their interpretation that you came back to boost those numbers.
From my "enemy" or not, I'm glad to hear someone else enjoys the deeper dynamics FW too. In the mean time, I look forward to trying to take down Goliath. 07

And this "information" is probably coming from folks who actually worry about that kind of stuff. ;) FOOM is a tightknit group of folks who like doing thigs in game together. Our main goal is to have fun together. Some of our folks are certainly concerned about what happens on a killboard but as a corporation, I think you would find that isn't even close to our driving force.
Do we like to watch things go BOOM!. Sure, but do we do it "to bolster numbers?", Hardly. We are here because the vast majority of us like Fac War, and its a casual way to get a lot of PvP, and do a lot of other things. After playing this game for 2.5 years, its a real rush doing PvP in a Destroyer or an Assault Frigate. Its really as simple as that.
Hope to see you in Black Rise one of these days and if I do, Ill make it a point to throw you a GF, no matter how it turns out. :)

I'm glad to see the FOOM CEO is enjoying the FW - I certainly agree with all his points relative to that. However, the FOOM chest-beating and self-gratting is a bit much. Indeed, FOOM has impacted the game to a great degree. There is no question about that. And why? As Capt Thryss so ably pointed out: resources and experience.
FOOM, which I consider to be an elite corp, led by an exremely capable CEO, staffed with the finest FC's that BRUCE had to offer, manned by a number of highly skilled pilots, and backed by resources most of us in FW can not imagine, elected to fight against new players with significant deficits in skills, resources and organization.
I suppose its a victory to be able to drop in cap fleets, construct POS's and field an unending line of T2 ships against those that have no way to match up. I can't imagine its very satisfying. As Capt Thryss notes, it seesm like a step down for FOOM.
With respect to the dismissive charges that Caldari fights only in blobs, this is untrue. A number of us operate in small gangs and like it that way thank you very much.
I am proud of all Caldari who fight the Gallente every day, knowing we will go up against more skilled pilots with better gear. And every day is one day closer to when we wil match up with the skill points and the gear. When that day comes, we will thank FOOM and all the other Gallente for teaching us the valuable lessons we need to win. Indeed, I wonder whether FOOM has noticed increased losses this time round already.
Meanwhile, we will continue to say "gf" in local - win or lose - whether FOOM has enough class to respond or not.

You'll have to find a different example. Iraq (Sad-dam) already proved to be a threat vis-a-vi Kuwait. As such it can not be used as a "good" example.
And why is Sad-dam (minus the dash) a bad word?
