After the discussion on the forums last night about Obama and dealing with some of the posters who would just call me names and not actually address my points with logic or evidence I decided I was done talking politics until the next Presidential election. I'm not much a political person.
But then there was the morning I just had. Just got to work after one of the scariest bus rides I've had. I ride a bus to work every day. Better for the enviroment than taking a car and cheaper for me. At least half the regular bus riders are black. I hadn't even noticed this until today.
Today when I got on the bus all the black riders were chanting slogans and comments about Obama and his victory, which while any loud shouting is annoying over a 40min bus ride I can put up with it. Then the slogans started to get progressively scarier and scarier.
The slogans shouted about Obama and his victory became more and more anti-white. I head someone yelling how they'd like to "choke-slam those damn whites". Another black person railed about losing a job because he had dreadlocks. Of course 2 years ago as a caucasian I had to shave my shoulder-length dreads when I went job hunting.
So I was glad to get off the bus on one piece. Nobody replied in opposition to any of the shouted slogans, comments, or threats but all the same I was worried the next step would take place where random white people that were "looking at us funny" were physically beaten and thrown off the bus.
I hope all this cools down soon. -- Distortion| Distortion 2 Preview |

It was kind of to be expected either way. Race was a silent issue in this election, luckily Obama did the right thing and not bring it up, running as a candidate who is black, not a black candidate. If McCain had won, I would have expected violence to occur, sadly enough. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

There are always asshats in any group of any stripe. That was particularly crappy of that crowd on the bus. I am amazed the bus driver didn't control things. I have seen far less goings on on a bus here in Chicago that prompted the bus driver to pull over and kick ass (metaphorically speaking).

After slavery, segregation, the murder of Doctor king, racism, and mistrust from the white man; a little steam will obviously need to be let off.
By posting here that black people are violent and want to crush the white man your not helping. Embrace your fellow human beings for the love of God.
Bobby Kennedy said (before he himself was slain)"We are all of this same world, we breath the same air."
Perhaps, just perhaps, it is time to move on and try to live together?

Logic had no part in what transpired on election day so what makes you think its going to apply on these forums. 51% of the electorate voted because of a chip on their shoulder and now because those same people were so short sighted a proportion of those 51% are going to think they now have cart blanche to say and do what they like.
What price do we have to pay for exposing the real racists it seems.

If that is true, then you've just experienced what many non-whites have been experiencing from whites for a long time. Also it happens at football matches every weekend (excepts it's the reds vs the blues etc there).

I just hope that the next four to eight years whatever "bad" things happen to Obama and or his administration are not race driven. He's an intelligent man, I'm sure he is fully aware that the race card will be in constant play for him. How he breaths, how he acts in front of the other nations, how he dressed, etc, everything is going to be inspected with a fine toothed comb and should he be linked to something big enough, you can bet the question will be raised if it is because of his race (sad, but as they said the other day, "all is fair in politics"). It may not be publicly said but I would not bet against the idea that it would be a ôsilent issueö.
Same goes double for African American citizens in the days before Obama becomes the president. If these reports of palatable tension and so forth are true you can bet somewhere someone is going to say "look what happened when Obama was elected president, do we really want a repeat of that?"
IÆm not saying this to offend anyone but Obama has the potential to keep the door open for the presidency to remain open to all walks of life and race in the US or to slam and nail it shut for the next century. I sincerely hope that people realize that just because he won the election doesnÆt mean its over.

While I am not surprised I am equally disturbed at what this could be foreshadowing. Obama is the first non Caucasian male to ascend to the presidency. Up until inauguration day the US has had a, ôtraditionö of what the president was. With things being shaken up I really cant see the various supremacy groups sitting on the side lines for the next four years. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Sensitive much OP? You must be some kind of wimpy neckbeard if a bunch of black people celebrating on a bus qualifies as "the scariest bus ride ever". In comparison the scariest road trip I ever took was when I took my then girlfriend, who is black, through Texas.
Blacks have a reason to be so "anti-white". Hell, I haven't had a single white friend since grade school. Racism is in our blood and last night was a huge step in the right direction. The right direction being eliminating separation of people based on physical attributes. So chill out honky lips, the big bad black man isn't going to hurt you. Of course that doesn't mean you still shouldn't cross the street if you see him coming towards you.

I'm sure I'll be flamed to hell and back for this, but....
Electing Obama as our president would be like electing someone who is strongly associated, but not actually apart of, the ***, as the President of Africa (Yes I know Africa is a Continent and not a country).
Has nothing to do with him being black (African-American, for you Politically correct nit-pickers), but his Anti-white and Anti-American associates and the books/papers he's written on it. Besides, I'm never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down |

1. So causing trouble and blaming it all on the white man is the way forward to people not thinking about skin colour. Logic demands an explanation of how this could work.
2. If a white man had same the opposite of what you said there, he would be branded a racist and ridiculed for the rest of his life. So cut back on the racism please

Logic doesn't demand anything dude. That doesn't even make sense... In response to what a smart person would have said: Black people celebrating is to be expected, anger towards white people is to be expected. The only trouble caused was a little bit of pee to get on the OP's tighty whiteys. Don't worry about it, the anger will die down.

Your equations don't add up. Anti-white=racism+disturbance=(?)violence. So anit-white equals violence?
Of course they were being racist, only an idiot would disagree with that. The point I am trying to get you to look at is that their are a lot of angry black people in this country and yesterday was a huge step in quelling some of that anger for good. Who knows, maybe we can all get along? Well... not as long as there is the south of course.
Also because you said it I just had to...
Originally by: Maddox Sorry, but (also known as "No offense, but"): Girls usually say this when they think they're being clever: "sorry, but you're a moron." It's a phrase derived from the expression people use when they're breaking some bad news to an old friend: "I'm sorry to say this, but the results are back and... you're an idiot." The only problem is, they never intend to say it with such eloquence, but rather, they use the phrase like it's a blunt object, hammering their square insult through your round psyche. If you think someone's an idiot, just come out and say it without these ***** apologies you dumb hag. Unless you're a character in a fighting game, have big boobs, and just won the round with a ***** slap, saying "sorry" just before you insult someone is obnoxious, cut the bull****.
