What are some minor yet somewhat quirky habits you have? When washing my hands, I always wet my hands before I put soap on my hands, usually resulting in getting the counter wet. I always walk up stairs two steps at a time.

I thought wetting your hands before putting soap on them was normal? Without water, you can't lather it up. And if you add water AFTER putting soap on there, you end up washing some of the soap away. Or am I just crazy?
I fidget. A lot. It's not just my hands either - if I'm sitting down, my feet are constantly twitching and moving without me really noticing. ____________________

Heh, I dunno, I've always just assumed it was an abnormal thing to do because no one else seems to get the counter as wet as I do when I wash my hands. My brother is always yelling at me for 'bouncing'; I can't sit still, I'm always tapping my foot or something.

When my ears are cold I tuck the bottom rounded piece of it in to my ear and hold it there, been doing that since I was a baby supposedly. Its more of a comfort habit, not because my ears are cold.

I twirl strands of my hair a lot apparently, I don't notice it, but it ends up in ringlets.
That, and I have the habit of double checking stuff a lot, such as checking if the front-door is locked when I leave (literally, like, locking it, checking, walking away a few steps, going back and checking again) and a similar thing when withdrawing money from a cash-point machine, to make sure I have my bank-card and the money etc.

does paranoia count? >.>
On my ipod touch (i let people use it occasionally. As long as it never leaves my sight), if it does anything remotely interesting (settings, tools, etc), it has an 8 digit numeric passcode on it... Been meaning to up it to 16, but thats probably too hard to type.. I love random.org My computer requires a password to turn on, and to log into windows. Been meaning to put a password on the hard drive too

A lot of women do that.

It's a mild form of OCD. I do it as well, I can get halfway into town and start asking myself if I locked the front door on my way out, even though I checked it twice already before I left.
I crack my knuckles a lot, especially when I am winding down after a long shift at work. When I am at home, I hate wearing anything on my top half so I normally strip topless as soon as I get home from work. Still working on the man boobs though, just can't seem to get them to grow any bigger.

I do that. Devoutly. Also I like to make sure **** is turned off at the wall, and sometimes i'll even unplug it.
YAY OCD. I just like to be sure, thats all.
As another posted, 2 steps at a time when walking up the stairs, each step is just too close together.
Also I beat out crazy rhythms on my desk at work, some have yelled.
When I make a cup of tea, I put the teabag in, then the sugar, then water, THEN MILK. I don't do this crazy teabag sugar milk thing that some people do. FOOLS.

OCD? Best break myself out of that habit, although it is hard as I like to make sure nobody can get in unless they have a key.
Although I do that, teabag, sugar water then milk. I just prefer the tea that way.

Up until about age 25, 27, I could not walk up stairs without really concentrating, forcing myself to slow down and walk. Always started running whenever there were stairs or a steep uphill.

If I'm in a card shop, I'll open all of the cards that sing/say happy birthday/make stupid sounds and walk away leaving them playing.
I do the same in toy shops, I can't resist anything that says "squeeze me" and makes a sound.

I do that. I HATE walking up stairs, especially one at a time. I also drum on everything, everywhere, all the time. People always get angry at me for that. ------------- Stop whining.

It's not a habit, it's a disorder and you can't break it like you can a habit. As far as making double and treble sure the front door is locked these days, it's probably a good thing

I chew the skin around my fingers/thumbs off a lot, my fingers look horrible :D Plus I have slight OCD tbh, Im a bloody neat freak and perfectionist. I kind of have the opposite of that. If some stuff on my desk is arranged in such a way that it looks symmetrical or squared neatly against another edge, I HAVE to move it slightly so that it's not neat any more. ____________________

Isn't that the correct way to make tea?
If you put milk in first it would stop the tea brewing (tea needs to be at pretty close to 100 Celcius to brew).
As for me, worst one is I still pick my nose

I can't believe I didn't mention this in my first post, 'cause that's probably the most noticeable of my habits.
