Edited by: Sybylle on 05/07/2004 11:45:54 It might be somewhere in the advanced options...I can't remember as I trashed it sometimes ago. It was using too much memory. Check out Sygate's free firewall here. It works a lot better, with a very little CPU comsuption.
If this makes Eve smoother, that will a really good news ^^ Less petitions due to lag
Edit : horrible spelling and link added (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |

Yeah thats the magic solution to get more bandwith from CCP¦s server right?
Most lag has nothing to do with the hardware in your PC¦s or how good a connection you have since you only get so much info from the servers.
Dont be giving lame ass advices on a subject you have no idea about, and dont even bother replying with some witty remark because you just showed the world that you know little as nothing about this and shouldnt be posting anything but questions for you are not fit to post advices on the matter. Skillshot.............Its painfully obvious to me that what you've done is an exploit.........you've not only altered the game i.e by blocking certain integral aspects of it , but if what you say is true you have also given your self an unfair advantage over other EVE players.........
Not good mate.............next you'll be altering code.

Dont you think that if this was an exploit a GM or DEV would have posted here and the topic locked and he banned?
If he was looking to gain the edge over other players do you really think he would make this post?
Please engage brain before posting mmmkay. Spawn of the Devil

Read the thread before you start making accusations or insinuations- he's asked CCP publically wether or not they consider this an exploit- not you.

Take your own advice mate............let me explain something thats painfully obvious to me........... one....GM's dont sit all day reading forums two.....if skillshot and other do this, and what skillshot says is true then he and the other people who do this will have an unfair advantage in EVE
You seem to think that if you tell others of an exploit then it ceases to be an exploit.......I'd suggest you have a think before you post, and possible finish high school.

Orestes is an ISD member and he was going to ask GM/DEV about it. This is exactly what skillshot was trying to do, get contact with someone that could ask for him. Simple??
If decreaseing lag is considered an exploit then we would probably all have to play on a similar computers so noone would have "an unfair advantage in EVE" and if you wanted to upgrade your computer you wouldn't be allowed because that would give you advantage. You would have much less client lag then the ones with the old computers and that is indeed an exploit, like you pointed out.
And noone was talking about, when exploit were publisized they stopped being an exploit. He was only pointing out that if it would be so much exploit he should just keep it to himself and use instead of pointing it out to the Eve team.
We call this negative forum bashing and there is no need for it in this case....

Man... How can this be an exploit, if the FAQ clearly states: "If you are connecting from behind a corporate or personal firewall, you will need to enter the server's IP address into your firewall configuration, which is 157.157.139.10 port 26000 when using TCP/IP, and UDP port 26001 when using Direct Play."
Cheers Ser
P.S.: So much for finishing high school...

Glad to see Skillshot publicising this- especially if it works

Dude take a chill pill for Orestes has posted in this thread and he has a direct communication line with officials, if this was an exploit this would have been locked by now.
I assume its an exploit to lower the graphics, remove features in settings and remove sound with alt+ctrl+shift+f12 as well?
You are not qualified to announce that is an exploit and what is not, neither am I but I draw my conclution of Orestes posting and the topic not locked yet.
