CCP Don't let Microsoft design your new Retail BOX.

And it reminded me of this hilarious video. No it's not about the 'Games for Live' header with the windows logo (that is taking up way too much space btw). It's about adding too much text and information on the box and reducing the artistic appeal. At the moment this box looks like a magazine cover and I also think the logo doesn't get the attention it deserves. And oh.. Capital Ships(!?).. I think that will be very missleading for new players that is buying the game and realize it will take them a year or two to just get into one of the ships on the front cover. Someone else on the forums suggested that you can have frigs and destroyers in the background and then cruisers -> battleships and capitals to describe the real progression of the game. I thought the whole point of having a box was to get a good store presence as advertising and giving fans something like a collectors edition aswell as making up for the ugly original box. Also, it looks like a regular DVD Case and not a Box like the original, which also had cover that could be opened up and show this which was behind the "first page" of the cover. What I was expecting for a retail box was a good looking cover art, a huge manual, some other goodies like posters or other stuff and a Gamecard to activate the account (so people who already have EVE but want a cool box can buy it and just use the GTC). Also, another cool idea is too have the box front cover in 3 layers, like pages that you fold up. First is ships in space, next shows fittings and a docked ship, and the last one which is a 3 page fold shows ambulation pictures and art. I do Sigs, Banners and other Graphics for ISK.

Another approach to sweetening the deal would be to include "exclusive" content on the DVD, like artwork (wallpaper-sized images), a couple of music tracks, the various EvE trailers, etc.

Yeah, I don't think there should be any in-game rewards since it screws over the people that downloads the client. But a strategy guide sounds nice. Meh all i've got in mine is a piece of paper telling me i need acrobat reader to see how to play the game.
