I think it's funny that people care THAT much about their internet, fake, pseudo self that they hide behind a second fake self to protect it.
It's kind of sad that many people who play EVE care that much about a video game that they are afraid to share their own opinion from their main fake self.

People don't want to post with their main because some drunken, big mouth, sociopath will feel it is their mission in life to track someone down in game and grief them continually simply because they were offended *sniff* with a forum posting. This I can agree with. In fact IEEE has one standing order, "If you do or say something, be prepared to back it up". We at the IEEE also try to uphold this basic rule in life with other corps which has led to some interesting blogs such as the Joe Pheonix saga. As it turns out the poor man just didn't know when to stop.
But yes, a good alliance should watch what their members are saying on the forums. And believe it or not, but good comments on occasion can be rewarding. |
