What's with the half-assed login screen for QR? Empyrean age had a sweet fully 3d rotating planet..... QR has a crappy 2d graphic (not that I have anything against the Rokh) Any reason for the downgrade?

It's an upgrade, just take a look at the 40 falcons in the background. That fleet could kill anything.

The whole login screen sucks at the moment. Lack of eye candy and the brown bars for EA suck.

Has Eve really attracted so many lame players from other games that we're whining about the login screen now?
I think it looks fine and is, most importantly, utterly trivial. Go find something interesting to complain about... like the mass of Exotic dancers.

I don't mind the log-in screen, but then again it could be blank without pictures and I still wouldnt care. If you really hate the log-in screen so much then just ****ing log in, dammit people are stupid these days.

Well the login screen servers a purpose of creating excitement and inspiration.
The first thing you see as you enter the game, it's supposed to make you want to play and create positive expectations..
So it's not totally unreasonable to wish for something a little more awesome..
Personally I think the game needs alot more art and fluff :P

If you look closely, the planet in the QR login screen also rotates (very slowly mind you).
And there are blinky lights everywhere. Improvement!

It'd be cool if it was animated in some way, but I *much* prefer it over the bland looking dreary old brown oil thing. Of course, part of that is probably because it's something new and the next one after this will be cool at that point, too.

its a static graphic, if it really bothers you that much, dig up the file and change the picture.

the planet DOES rotate...
notice the ships blinkin too? ...
it's not too bad, but some hint that ships wer emoving woulda been great (they're at the wrong angles, to make it look proper, ebcause they'd be seperating, instead of flying parallel)..
just thought i'd point that out..
heck, maybe the moon even rotates, ihavnt bothered to look that hard. but the planet does.

It's a realtime rendered 3D.
And I would change it if it wasn't :>
Let's just hope the next expansion will have a huge animated wormhole with ships flying through it :P

Actually, the EA login-screen was crappy in my opinion, why just only this planet? where was this ammar-minmatar fleet battle i saw on the EA features page(that with flash graphics)?
Now QR is totally static even on premium.
The best login-screen for me was in Trinity, with it's 3d-rendered EVE sign.

It is animated. Watch the flashing lights, and appreciate the grandeur of the Rokh.
Also, I think CCP is subtly sending hints to all you missile whiners out there, fly a Rokh like the intro screen and you will be AAAAWWWWWLLLLL right.

It's fine. And symbolic. As in, you should probably trade that Raven for a Rohk and train up your hybrid gun skills until you learn how to use a target painter and proper missile skills.

with all due respet, if you dont like it...change it :)
It is not that hard to figure out where the picture is stored. Then get a new picture...rename it...and voila :)
But the picture that came with QR isn`t half that bad.
ps: this is not supported by ccp, so if anything goes from bad to worst...well...**** happens
