I agree completely. I found that when I was doing my binge on Halo3 that if I stopped playing for awhile (stretch my legs and what not) I would very rapidly want to go sleep, however when I went back to playing the fatigue went away and became more aware of my surroundings. I would imagine that this is a survival mechanic from back when Man still had quite a few things hunting him and required action whe tired. |

Starting at 8:00 on friday, till 20:00 on sunday. Thats 60 hours straight. I was organising a lanparty for my friends that weekend, had 50 people together in an old office building.
after that I slept for 22 hours.

4 days, then the napping started (only like a mintue sleeping at a time). Total breakdown occured on day 6 or so
But the best sleep I ever got was: 12 hours awake -> 6 hour party -> 10 hours of biking over 200 km (was starting to get tired and thus slow) and then off to bed.
I think I never slept that well again.

I honestly don't know...never had a gaming binge or anything like that. I do regularly stay up for around 40-50 hours at a time when I'm working or on call at work, but its so fast paced I don't even realize that I've just worked 20+ hours until I go to take a break. I sit down at the picnic table outside and light a cigarette...its all over for me.

Somewhere around... 48 to 55 hours, I believe. Lanparties are bad for health (junkfood in all varieties, brandy in all varieties, gaming in all varieties).
I think what really made me want to break this 'record-attempt' was the fact that we were discussing games that were in the 'Subspace/Continuum'-genre. Some poor sap was explaining a weird game to me and I practically fell asleep while he was talking.

Edited by: Muad'' Dib on 20/11/2008 03:47:06 Was in '96-'97, i got my first PC game on my brand new P2 266MHz, it was Tycoon Transporter. I stayed for 72hs awake, listening to Manu Chao - was vey popular on Radio 21 back then. Ever since that episode, i still have this fixation with his songs. As soon as i hear them, i feel uplifted, and shortly afterwards very very tired. I had once a Uni exam, and realized i mixed the dates for the exams, leaving me just a week-end to study with the exam on Monday. It did not have the length of the TT episode but it had more intensity than that one, by Sunday evening i was laughing at anything. :)
Also, if anyone wants to go hallucinating, here's how you do it. Sleep has different stages, you interrupt the entry to deep sleep by setting your alarm clock to ring very loudly every 30minutes and you leep thinking about what you want to hallucinate about. Worst i've ever done is after 2-3hs think i was near a giant ship - sea-ship, that could fall and crush me and my world ! PS: Did a similar episode when I got X-COM 3 and JA2, but maybe 2-2.5 days, not 3 at all.

when i first got eve i was unemployed and deceided to catch up with my mates by trainign as many skills as i could quickly and do as much mining to get isk to buy my items, think over my first 2 weeks in space i was up for bout 60 hours at a time, slept for a few hours and then did same again.
last year i went out for A-levels results night i was awake the thursday mornign at 5.30 for work, went out, got in was up all night (y'know ) then went back to work to do another 14hour shift in different departments, and then went home to run lv4's on eve with my corp mates. hangover, lack of sleep and trying to interact with customers in a pretty big town centre store was really personally amusing for me since i could hardly string a sentence together by the end of my shift.
