The way I see it, it matters not that the cathedral was successfully transported, or whether the majority of it found it's way on to the black market courtesy of Catiz's agents. The important factor in this is that Catiz demonstrated defiance to the emperor's rule, and the emperor's so far done absolutely nothing about it.
Why?
Because the merchant houses of the holders of Tash-Murkon contribute a hell of a lot to imperial koffers. Ironically, it was likely Tash-Murkon isk that financed both sides of this petty show of authority and defiance.
It's really quite entertaining to think that the emperor's word is the word of god, and by such token, law, and yet it would seem that the emperor is terrified of upsetting the holders that keep him in power. After all, if the emperor's will and authority was indeed absolute, there would be no question of Catiz being able to carry off or even conceive of this minor political coup.
Who's really holding who's strings?
I think what we're likely to see is Doriam brushing this entire incident under his imperial carpet and pretending it never happened. That would be in the interests of the stability of the empire after all. However, it did happen, and for all his supposed holy power, Doriam can't change history. A minor act of rebellion in the face of oppression goes unpunished.
Advantage: Tash-Murkon.

Edited by: Matt Ivresse on 08/07/2004 15:54:40 What I want to know is what Catiz is gonna do with all the bricks that we all have? At the moment I have over 1500 bricks in my hangar and over 500 defiled relics as well, and I really want to get something good out of them...
maybe I'll build my own little house in Caldari Prime with 'em... ---------------------------

Forgive me if my knowledge of the Empire is incorrect, but I believe those seeking to prevent transit of the Cathedral were her agents...
I believe, that her house could provide a potential heir subject to the Championship. I'd suggest that this move of Catiz's has demonstrated her lack of loyalty to the Emporer and for that she has lost respect in the eyes of those loyal to him. Yes, she may have gained respect from her so called Agents. Let her. They will cut her throat at the first opportunity. Isn't that right, Minmatar dogs? Do you not eat your first born and wallow in their blood? Such is the stories I was told growing up. Vile creatures you are. Catiz is short sighted indeed. Her agents will bite the hand that feeds. Mark my words.

The way I see it if Catiz was to oppose the emperor more than she has already then civil war will break out...
If Catiz was to do such a stupid thing then it is highly likely that she will loose simply because her trade routes to the rest of the galaxy are directly through Amarrian space. All Amarr has to do is blockade these gates and The Tash-murkons are effectively doomed...
The Emperor halds the cards and Catiz is left as just a selfish little girl.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

You know, what with Tashy-babes and her civil war, Dorz and his rampant relatives and that one who's supposed to be a ghost but might be alive or whatever, all this is almost as exciting as my favourite soap opera, 'Resident and Absent'
And Admiral Trevize is spookily similar to the local grouch

Akede named it: Catiz Tash-Murkon and her amarrian followers are the traitors I spoke about. The other scum, from whatever origin, are the heathen barbarians.
By the way: Isn't it ironic that the rebellic Minmatar slaves, the self announced freedom fighters, came in heaps to voluntary serve an Amarr family? Did they lose their brain or their pride?
...or did they never have neither?

Yes, I was wondering about that... i wonder how they felt about helping a person who uses slavery in their factories... did they realise that Catiz is probably the amarrian with more slaves than anyone else... perhaps even challenging the emperor's own slave holdings.

One single act of defiance triggered the Minmatar Rebellion all those years ago. Of course, it also triggered the annihilation of the Starkmanir, but the part of the Starkmanir Tribe in this story is played by the house of Tash-Murkon. Minmatar, and other anti-imperial activists merely played the part of the Khumaak.

This is merely wishful thinking on your part. When the leaders of the Empire of have differences of opinion, they are resolved with dignity and informed debate.
When Minmatar have differences of opinion, more often than not it will end in bloodshed and carnage.

Amazing, Rodj... How do you fly that ship of yours with your eyes shut tight and your fingers in your ears? A wheel has been set in motion. We were not the motor, but rather the bearings.
However, if you want it in simplistic terms, I was paid by amarrians to kill amarrians, and in so doing blow a raspberry at the emperor. Does that sit better with your idea of the minmatar grasp of politics?
