WHY U NERF THE Hell Missiles IT GOING TO TAKE FOR EVER TO DO A LVL 4 MISSION THAT HAVE small SHIPS. U HAD IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. [02:29:46] ********* > from missiles is reduced by the signature radius to speed ratio, rather than just speed. Going faster or reducing the signature radius will reduce missile damage further. For a ship with the same signature radius as the missile's explosion radius, the missile's explosion velocity indicates the speed at which the missile damage starts to get reduced. The new formula allows for speed tanking using afterburners. In fact, afterburners will in general be more effective than micro warp drive for speed.
Thus u screwed with caldari throughing everyother race in the lead in damage. INSTEAD OF MAKING MISSILE HIT FOR LESS DAMAGE. increasing mision time.*****Hint Hint DECREASE FRIG SIG RADIUS****
THIS WILL NOT BE THE END OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

This actually only has an effect on large missiles going after small ships... if you're using heavy missiles after a Cruiser or higher in missions, you won't notice much of a difference. If you're using cruise missiles, you'll notice the difference on cruisers, but not really on bc's.
in essence, shooting cruise missiles at frigates will take forever... bring light/medium drones to pick off frigates...
I can still 1-hit pop destroyers from my bc using heavy missiles... |

Welcome to the life of the non-caldari... Have you ever tried to hit anything smaller than a battlecruiser with a large turret? ç¦ |

Edited by: Mika Meroko on 20/11/2008 05:04:09 target painter only helps so much....
we need longer webs...
I mean.. if my Large turrets can hit small targets 50km out for full dmg...(yes, full damage)
(if I move to compensate for transversal though... which mean... alot of piloting... transversal 0 is nice.. XD)
why cant I do something to compensate for missiles at long range? (give us T1 50km webs!!!)
edit: sig rad isnt that big of a problem for missiles.... target painter fix that..
but the exp velocity thing... if target is outside of 10km range.. theres nothing you can do...

The life of a non-Caldari is a moot point, one of my friends is Minmatar and spent the time training missiles. I am sure he's going to be so very pleased when he logs on next.
Let me put this in a realistic perspective...If you shoot a private jet with a cruise missile, they're going to be finding pieces of that thing for a week over a wide radius. On the flip side, if you shoot a private jet with a pistol, you'll find a wee hole, unless you got lucky enough to hit something vital. Somehow, in EVE, if I shoot a small ship with a cruise missile, it's going to smile at me and keep coming. Conversely, I have a better chance of more damage with a smaller ship against a bigger one.
Huh?
The latter example isn't going to kill a BC or BS with one shot, true. But I shouldn't have to continuously hammer a small ship with cruise missiles and pray my damage isn't going to be less than the regen capabilities of the little NPC ship. I mean, I had difficulties with a Lvl 3 mission in my Raven after the patch.
Huh?
Mind you, I am not in any way, shape or form, even refering to PvP. I don't care about PvP. Usually my involvement with PvP was me jumping through a gate and getting popped by 4 or 5 ships waiting on the other side. Not even sure where missile nerfing came into play there.
About a month ago, I lost my interceptor to a Drake...he used three missiles. Sucked, but it made sense. So can I now tank an interceptor with speed and go about popping ships five times larger than me with it? Sounds pretty dumb to me.
