Yes. Incidentally, according to this picture I just drew...err, took of me and the devs frolicking through jita, I'm BFFs4ever with all the developers at CCP - which should make me a developer too

Don't talk ****e about stuff you don't understand.
1) I am a programmer and former support engineer. Vista doesn't use 700Mb of my RAM coz I won't use that ****e.
2) My PC was perfectly fine before QR so the QR client has problems. Memory leaks imo, not that you'd understand what they are.
3) My PC is properly setup therefore doesn't do anything I don't want it to do like automatically downloading anything.
4) No. In 14 years of being online I've had.... 1 virus (10 years ago) and that came from a CD.
5) No. See answers 3 and 4.
6) My RAM is perfectly fine, see answer 2.
7) Duh!
QR client has a lot of problems, mainly the crippling memory leaks caused by the new stargate models imo.

i think that nearly noone here understood(except 1or2) that CCP is not always to blame!! Maybe sometimes it is her fault but sometimes it is just your pc!! That is wjat i meant but i thing most of those who replied are just ******s!

QR may have bugs! But they shall be fixed in time.

I think we all understood your post. Not all of use Vista that uses 700 mb, some of us actually continue to use XP Pro with 8 GB of RAM and are still having a problem. I only run 1 client and just flying around, buying stuff (no not in Jita), there is a lag spike or memory leak every 15-30 seconds after maybe 1/2 a hour of being online.
Anyway, this game should run fine on any computer that can run it. Just because some people can't afford the latest & greatest, doesn't mean that it shouldn't run just fine. I myself am doing great with my rig, but don't go pushing "your computer is the sukz0rz" & disenfranchising some people.
*Insert "Go to WoW" statement here*

vista redistributs its ram use quite allot btw
there is also win xp win 2k linux and mac os
there is also a diffrence between premium and classic clients
there is also the possibility to change how much you cache

how many mmo's out there now require you to cut most of your settings in order to enjoy the multiplayer aspec of thier game.
Complex, 1 shard, whatever the reason or not the reason. Eve is the King of the Hill when it comes to poor performance. End of story.
It's also the main reason my account only subs 1-3 months out of every 2 years. I re-sub in the hopes that maybe after 200,000+ people having paid to beta test this game that just maybe they got thier sh.. stuff together. I will howver keep my hopes up, and pop in every now and then to snag a skill or 2 in hopes of that day. At least until another space mmo comes out and knows what it's doing,
Don't get me wrong. Eve is a great game. When it works. Which is only a few days between many years for my taste. I don't think the performance of Eve will ever shape up in our lifetime to be on par with other mmo's, and by the time it does there WILL be other space mmo's out there.
I understand Eve is a pinacle in it's holy 1 shard crusade, but really advertising a mass combat pvp space game and seeing nothing but lag whines on the forums for 5 years.. yeah.. |

As a (beginner) programmer, I have one moto : The user don't have to pay for the developer incompetence.
CCP did many progresses for lag before QR (well, not tested myself), after QR it seems to don't exist anymore, and you ask to don't blame them and check our PCs...

CCP admit the problem with the patch of tomorrow. Check the patch notes. |

That's the reason i'm still hooked with XP.
I'd like to change but I don't like when MEGATOPUBER hardware is mistreated like this. I mean UBER cpu is slow, UBER RAM get mid result, etc. I love to optimize my computer, so I don't use Vista.
If anybody have a good advice on another windows edition (beside old things like Win 2000), go on, I'm thinking about buying a new licence.

Maybe this is true, but you have to decide... You want to play lagfest or compete in the fight you are in... I, for the moment, prefer to be able to attack and not just watch a picture on my screen that looks nice.

eh.. I'm agreeing with you. Not that it's the right answer, but really it's the only answer ccp allows. After all it only performs as good as they make it, and thier 5 year track record isn't so hot in my view
