Can you please do a quick list of the most effective ships for running missions as a pure amarr character, without getting too far off the PVP way with the training? For all the levels.
No "Cross train X race" responses, please, I want to stick to it as pure amarr to have a strictly spec'd character :).
Also, if you could point me to a good mission hub (and agents) close to Amarr, even better.
Thanks. |

Armageddon - Will manage with low skills, cheap. Apocalypse - Quite a good mission runner, not huge DPS but the range bonus makes up for that. Abaddon - Never used it but many use it with success, takes decent skills as it chews through cap. Paladin/Nightmare - Awesome
Skilling for a mission ship doesn't take you away from PVP training at all, the same skills are needed. Only detour may be some Social skills if you bother.
Systems, yes I know a good one but it's nice and quiet and would like it to stay that way if ever go back there =P |

Wouldn't I do better in level 1s with a coercer?
Just a thought |

Yes you would. And while I agree omen is a good ship for lvl 2s it takes a fair bit of skill to use it effectively, and maller is much more forgiving. Arbitrator is really nice too if you're into drones.

Paladins are amazing for mission running.
I'd offer Taru which is next door to Yanuel. Yanuel will help you build up faction with Ministry of War. Taru will give you a couple L4 agents. |

Amarr mission runners are in good care because all the skills are useful for your pvp career. Hull Up V? Mandatory T2 Lasers? Mandatory Repair IV? Helps and HACS need Mechanic V anyway Gunnery Supports? Hell yeah Drone Skills? Never hurts
Whereas Caldari runners train for Sieges (or torps), which are not the greatest fleet weapon systems.
For a "newbie" eg low skilled pilot, I'd go something like this
1-2 Maller 3 Harbinger (most of the time it ganks and tanks better than prophecy, only thing you really need is Hull up V) 4 Apocalypse
Apoc has a LOT more forgiving capacitor, and the range bonus helps a lot when your gunnery skills are not really all that hot. Abaddon eats too much cap and it's not really better than Apoc unless you wait for everything to come to Scorch range Armageddon... On T1 beam setups (mega modulated), without Ogre II's, the Geddon deals slightly more DPS. Apocalypse will tank better since you can fit a tanking rig instead of Ancillary. Drones are generally used to kill small stuff, so using Ogre's is not really that great an idea (there's exceptions of course).

Personally I really enjoy the following:
1 - Assault frigate (Retribution is my real favourite) 2 - Assault frigate / Arbitrator (Drone boat is superb with omni's and range extenders) 3 - Prophecy for fun / Harbinger for safety / Armageddon for overkill 4 - Abaddon with 3xCCC and good fit (BS5 & Armor tanking skills to IV minimum is good idea with Abaddon) - If you want to go with lower skills, Armageddon is great & helps if you have nice drone skills. Apoc (if you're highly skilled) is awesome at medium to long range engagements.

Punisher/Coercer for lvl 1 Arbitrator for lvl 2 Harbinger for lvl 3 Apoc/Abaddon/Paladan for lvl 4
The abaddon is an absolute insane cap eating monster, so I'd stick with an Apoc until you get used to mission running and/or improve your skills.
