I Earthan of BNC,NORAD alliance and EternalDark of VOTF CA alliance have agreed upon a duel 1-1 to see who of us is better and to taste the joy of battle.
Below thread is posted to sign up publicly to rules we have agreed so shame would fall on the corp and alliance who would break this rules.
The rules:
1- No warping out : we fight to death.
2- No jamming.
3- We start from 30 km.
4- No corp members in the system we chose to fight in .
The result of the duel will be posted in this thread after duel.
I Earhtan sign to these rules and i hope for a great battle.

2. Yes, as Josh said, please fraps, both people if possible.
3. Um, I REALLY hope this isn't just going to be 2 Ravens using torpedoes and seeing whose tank lasts longer. Cuz looking at the rules (esp 30 KM with no warping out or jamming) I'd kinda wonder about that.

He said start at 30, not fight at 30
If someone's close range, starting at 50km would suck.
If someone's long range, starting at 5km would suck.
30km is balanced for both IMHO.

GL to Eternal, but the entire concept of an EVE duel determining skill is sort of pointless. A duel really just depends on who has the better setup. If you want to measure skills try Quake 3 or something.

A corp I was in a long time ago did this with frigates and it was very exciting and fun. Making it system wide actually showed who was the most SKILLED in the game. They used scanners to try and find each other after encounters where someone would go to a planet to recharge shields. But after an hour it was over. Battleships should be much quicker. |

I mean, if someone puts 1m down on ED, and someone else puts 1m down on Earthan, who ever wins gets everything.. but how do you do it when there's like 13 people involved, and each putting money down on someone, if someone puts down 10m on ED, and win, but altogether the rest of the people only put together 5m, is it spread over the people who put money on ED? thus, losing the person who put down 10, a few mill..

Sochin tell me more, my modal large balster couldnt hit him from 500-1000km , he was webified , i had one weak hit every 6 shots or so ,rest misses, with all gunnery skills at level 4, on a megathron.
The large close range guns at very close range seems a jocke, it cant stay like this.

Not in defense of either side but this battle shows the GMs what problems there currently are. When you have battleship on battleship with close range weaponry unable to hit each other at that range... for gods sake the turret is in the other battleships engine at that point... it should REAM them. Just the freaking blast radius and how close you are there is no way it doesnt strike them! Personally, I think that every turret shot should hit but the range should effect the damage. So yes a 1400mm with EMP ammo smacks a battleship from 90km. It does 0.0 damage but it does hit. It should never miss. Missles never miss they just explode when the range is way screwed... which inflicts 0.0 damage. But when they hit they do the same damage everytime...
Can we have teh fix0rs?!
Also id like to note that you nerfed shield tanking and made everyone revert to armor tanking. But... armor tanking is about 2x as bad as shield tanking... so what exactly did you accomplish?

A Raven will take out a blasterthron and so will a good apoc pilot kayo...And Earthan you neutrons are best at 5-7k,1k is electron blaster range,800's at below 10k as shown would not stand a chance,there sweet spot is about 12-14k.

Nothing really amazing about his setup. He loads up with 5 or so heavy nos and a crapton of named gear. Some electron blaster cannons. Cap booster, some scramblers, mwd in mids. Then he armor tanks and mounts a bunch of backup arrays. Complete crap damage, but he just weathers out whomever he's fighting.
Since nos were fixed up, they're pretty golden.

Same. Been in many 3-5 vs. me(shield tanked raven) shields last for 5-10mins and I take 2-3 of em down with me.

When you have battleship on battleship with close range weaponry unable to hit each other at that range... for gods sake the turret is in the other battleships engine at that point... it should REAM them. Just the freaking blast radius and how close you are there is no way it doesnt strike them! Personally, I think that every turret shot should hit but the range should effect the damage. So yes a 1400mm with EMP ammo smacks a battleship from 90km. It does 0.0 damage but it does hit. It should never miss. Missles never miss they just explode when the range is way screwed... which inflicts 0.0 damage. But when they hit they do the same damage everytime...
Can we have teh fix0rs?!
Also id like to note that you nerfed shield tanking and made everyone revert to armor tanking. But... armor tanking is about 2x as bad as shield tanking... so what exactly did you accomplish?
My Shield Tanked Raven is atleast as good as it was pre patch tbh...
Although i just fit my ship to what is required at the time tbh.
Same. Been in many 3-5 vs. me(shield tanked raven) shields last for 5-10mins and I take 2-3 of em down with me.

To say "this ship can't kill this ship" is utterly WRONG.

Yea i dont like giving away secrets to enemies but i fought against a freindly tempest with 800mm before and from 7km-15km his 800 mm were much better then my blasters while from 6km and closer the blasters were clearly much better.
I won partly because i had a webifier , he hadnt and i was dictating range and i made a smart move to destroy his drones on start( leting 3 drones as bait , seeing his drones attacking mine, scooping them fast, firing my smartbombs and kiling his, then my drones were safe to attack)
