looooool 56 k is required. I dont ever want to hear another GM to say "Thats ur isp line thats laggy" cause thats bs. not 'battleship'
I think that the devs has some explaining to do.
Here is a for you GM's that sais it clients internet connection problems.
If what not is, what is ?. |

I agree 100% this is crazy..and i guess it is the minimum specs for maybe mining, or researching..or even building..cos I did all that and never got lagged like when I joined a PvP alliance..I have gone to battle and literally watched the drop from warp to the battle lock for at least 30-40 seconds....dropped to a screen of missiles...no ships...then 20-30 seconds later I see ships..of which 4 or 5 are targeting me and my shields are gone, armor at 50% or less...next thing i see is "ship out of control" then i wake in a new clone...surprisingly lag free finally. For this I pay for 3 accounts per month? I really dont want to go back to being a carebear..plz fix this plz :)

Well i dont have any problem with graphics lag in eve, but i do get alot of normal lag, mainly because im on 56k and a crap phone line, so i know that im the one lagging not the server, but have you considered maybe your video cards are too good and new for eve, im on a radeon 9800 -se- and have got no graphic lag, i know its not and old card but it isnt too new either, maybe the eve client has a certain problem with something in newer video cards, also have you guys tried changing the screen resolution?
Anyway just my 2 cents, im a bit annoyed atm because my char seems to be stuck invisable outside a jumpgate lol

I don't have the best connection (isdn64k) but, since this last patch my lag during combat has been atrocious. When I started, I could fight in small fleet battles & small engagements with no noticeable slowdown, but since the last patch if I engage one other frigate, with nobody else in the system & few people on the server, my modules take 5 - 10seconds to activate & my ship starts jumping around all over the place. I've heard loads of people say they're willing to setup test battles, all we need to know is that someone from CCP is actually going to be paying attention.

Given that this game has been around for over a year now i would be majorly concerned not only with the massive lag during battles, but with the number of exceptions being generated throughout the game when doing just the most mundane of tasks like opening a window..
I would suggest the developers of eve might actually want to do some serious testing on patches and releases before the deploy them to the gaming world.
If you want evidence of this.. ask any eve player too look in there log folder.. I've been playing a little over a week now and i have over 30 text log documents with more than 1 exception in each of them. I'd say that was pretty dire!

Correct me if i am wrong but wasn't the new castor patch meant to solve this lag problem?? if yes then i don't see any changes at all. Right now i prefer mining to combat. ================================================== Its not the size of dog in the fight but the size of fight in the dog which matters ================================================== |

In fact, the lag has been steadily getting worse since the Server Upgrade last month (Not sure, but it`s more like a Downgrade.. ) Corp Chief Engineer |

I usually try to avoid fleetbattles, but lag strucks sometimes anyway. I have a friend he was playing on modem line before and he didn't experience more lag then me. This points to a server preformance issue, not local isp's.

The server issues at the moment go way beyond fleet battles. Even mining is becoming increasingly awkward and tedious with corp members getting booted, stuck and unable to open/gain access to cans. All we try and do is get together on a sunday evening (peak time, i know) and do a little bit of quiet mining whilst having a bit of banter. This has not been possible for the last month *at least*. Needless to say I am having to work very hard to derive enjoyment from this game at the moment and I am now on the brink of cancelling my account even though I am an EVE-addict.
Quite frankly, there is no point in investing more of my time and effort for a game that, although great in concept, is desperately flawed at hardware and software level.
Please CCP, could you at least issue some kind of statement admitting knowledge of the poor performance issues and an assurance that you are dedicating more resources to fixing it than making the graphics prettier or tweaking combat stats/systems. Surely, all that can come later once we have a stable base to build on.

Question did anyone do the Frigate March earlier this year? I did, there were a hell of a lotta other players that did too, when we were all i the same system the lag was noticeable, but we are talking 200+ ships flying round a station. Even tho the lag was noticeable, you could still fly about with, ease, even gate jumping wasnt a problem. What has changed in eve to cause it to lag like a ***** now?

Lag for me isn't a problem, I just log on change my skill and log off, it takes me so long to get out of the station that I don't bother with the rest of the lag - sorry game. :-) Don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make it's own judgements.
