I have been getting litterally 4 - 8 minutes of network lag in combat with 3 or more participants.
For example; Fight 1; 20 ships, Malediction ship

5 minutes lag, was only able to engage 2 modules.
There have been more, but the logs are nowhere to be seen.
All combat with more than 2 people I have been involved in has seen me in non stop lag for 4-10 minutes.
I have a 56k, however this was not an issue before the last patch.

So basically you're telling me that ANY graphics card is going to completely CHOKE trying to render 100+ models of battleships?
And that the game engine tries to render them all regardless of range and the devs DID NOT know about this???

Unfortunately this isn't a great test to compare since not only are the convoys missing models but they have no AI so your computer doesn't need to get the AI. I have a feeling the problem is an SQL hit that with the 150 real NPCs that it has to send all of their true AI information to you.

If Clawhammer can spawn NPC's why cant he spawn Player ships?
WHy not organize a non hositle gathering of two fleets so we can guage the effect of lag and under what circumstances. Entropy is a start. TQ is even better.
I dont doubt that a GUI option to turn off models and sound would make Eve 100-200% faster?

The devs already stated that they will not do this. THey do not wish for ppl to play their beloved game in wireframe mode.
Beyond stupid I say. Why do they care how I play the game? I don't want fancy gfx and laggy laggy.
I want it to run smooth even if I have to reduce everything to boxes. It's not like you can see the models when you are zoomed out anyways.
I'd like to be abel to turn off missile explosions etc.
I have however been todl you can actually just edit the game files to remove the models so just the icon is left. I gotta mess with that myself. Turn off drones etc. Would be sweet. Maybe see if one can replace the models with low polyon models or somesuch. -------------------------

I will give 10 million isk to the bright spark that manages to replaces all my models on the client with say... 100 pixel cubed boxes of colour depending on class/size/type of entity.
