Since QR release my corp mates and I have noticed a fun new glitch.
In at least two instances I've witnessed a ship has jumped through a gate while under fire, disappeared (broken everyone's lock) and then appeared back in the original position unable to jump again because of a session change timer.
This happened to a corp mate of mine while tanking an enemy gang, he de'aggressed, waited out his 1 minute timer, jumped the gate, vanished as you do - which broke my lock on him as well as the enemy gang's. However instead of jumping through he reappears on the gate unable to jump again and subsequently died to enemy fire, once they realised he could be locked again.
Since there's no mention of this bug in the latest patch notes I have to assume its unfixed, as you can imagine its pretty hard to reproduce it definitely doesn't occur every time you try to jump while under attack.
Its a pretty serious problem no matter how infrequently it may happen, anyone else experienced it ?

It happens yeah, since QR. Not that often though, but pretty twisted when it does. Not just gates, but also jump bridges.
Bugreporting is the only real way to flag these things tho.

Ive petitioned the case to our overloards, i am also making a bugreport.
On my screen, i waited out my 1min agression, hit jump, got the full jump messages, everything lost lock, then i started taking damage again - hit jump again and got session change in progress, died and warped out in my pod.
here is a screenshot of my screen after i "jumped" and wondered why i was still dieing. and game logs

[ 2008.11.22 00:48:16 ] (notify) Session change already in progress. - still in tash, taking damage, i start spamming jump again, on the logs for around 20 seconds i only take drone damage - while the repo gang work out i can still be shot [ 2008.11.22 00:48:39 ] (notify) Ship is out of control - and of log, i die and warp out in my pod.
before i get laughed at, i aint moaning a died, thats fine - i just don't like the fact i died due to a buggy game rather than my enemy's skill.

I've had some disconnects where I've jumped the gate, started warping to the next and gotten disconnected. When I reconnected I ended up in the previous system, as if I never jumped through.

I've had this happen when trying to dock, as far back as pre-EA. Different action, same behaviour. Petitioned and was told "Not in our logs".

Once long ago I had a similar experience. Our gang was sitting on a gate taking sniper fire. I was primary and my tank was failing so I clicked jump. At the exact same time the gang leader clicked gang warp.
The effect was that all the snipers lost lock on me, the my ship model disappear on my screen but I never jumped the gate, instead I followed the gang with the warp. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Hey I've had this happen before, I thought I was just high. I was shooting at some T2 cruiser, it re-approached, got it to half armor, lost lock and told my gang mates on the other side to wait because he jumped. Ship stood there so I was like wtf I am outside of ECM burst range so wtf is going on. He never aggressed so it might be just a bug with the jump command, remember to always spam that button kids. --

He hit jump and got the jumping message. Anything other than actually jumping into the next system in that circumstance is broken.

From your image you're not beeing scramed, why didn't you warp off?

Yes, the same thing has happened to me.
However, there was no fighting involved when its happened to me, 2-3 times now.
Just get to a gate, jump... and nothing happens even though it says I'm jumping, and a get the 'Session change in progress' message.

Witnessed this behaviour couple of days ago.

I frapsed a bit of a failure to jump, had the jumping text pop up, realized I was getting shot, fraps on, spam the jump button, made it out in 30%ish armor.

Not just Eve... for example in another MMO, Asherons' call http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asheron's_Call
There are portals (you can think of them as jump gates) and in that game if you hit a portal in rare cases you'd enter it and reappear where u started.
Just as you described here with jump gates.
It would get you killed while trying to Escape a PvP force. Also as you described here.

Thanks to the replies in this thread we figured out that you can reliably reproduce this by activating a module after you hit jump.
New bug report filed by myself with working reproduction steps Report id: 66458

Wait for the jumping message to appear on the bottom of the screen
Activate a module, such as a mwd, armour rep or damage control
If you did it just before the system change occurs your ship will decloak on the gate and not jump.
The jumping message will remain however and you will get a session change timer.

this has happened to a corp mate of mine on a few occassions, haven't tested this to confirm but believe if you have something keyed up to overheat on the next cycle it will also bug you out the same as activating a new module will, ie trying to overheat your resist mods to improve your tank, you finally deagro and are about to jump when the next cycle hits, it sorta refreshes it cus you're now overheating and it gives session change timer and you don't jump after all. -------------------------- NOTR

Yep, happened to me. I de-agressed and I swear i saw the gate activate when i clicked, but then i realised i was still on grid...Missed a domi kill as a result :(
I assumed i was just mistaken and that I somehow didnt actually click jump, but seeing this makes me think otherwise..
