so, we got motherships, great, awesome, a little costy, buy HELL it's worth it if you have the money. tank, dps and needs a specified ship to tackle it down (or an absurd quantity of nos/neut ships)
titans...AHAH OH WOW are you still arguing about their potential? cmon, they're the final weapon for any big enough alliance.
now to the point:
IS THAT ALL?
i mean, that's all we can get from high-end capital construction?
ships are still evolving and producing new concepts on old hulls, and each expansion gives us more and more sub-capital T2 ships. most of them are specialized ships that require an awesome amount of time to train all the required skills, plus another useless Rank 5-12 skill for each new ship type.
then, why can't we have the same love for supercapital ships? did CCP forget about supercapitals? are they an "unwanted feature" (just like ghost training, i suppose)?
TL;DR -> NEED MOAR SUPAH CAPITOL SHIPS
no, i don't have enough money/skill to buy up a supercapital vessel ______________________________________________

Currently there isn't much point in using a mom in 0.0 fleets over a carrier aside from possibly defending cynojammers; it would be nice to see them get a more dedicated role.

how many smartbombing carriers have you seen near low-sec stargates camping the hell out of it even in popular hubs? now, how much would you pay to make your ship invulnerable to regular points and be only tacklable by big fleets of nos/neuting ships or 200m specialized tackler?
EDIT:
As of supercapital mining ships, i'd like to see a capital mining ship that can ACTUALLY USE MINING LASERS.

No, for gods sakes. What on earth would make you think we need more supercapitals? We need more small ships that add a lot of variety in the game that newer players and casual gamers can use. Not more capitals, not more battleships. We need more variation in small ships because that's where most players are at now. Most importantly, how are you supposed to tell whether this is part of my post or my signature? |

is there any mechanic that hasn't been introduced in the frigate part of eve? more variety? what are you thinking about? mini-DDD frigate? Kamikaze-like frigates?
cmon...the only thing you're missing are logistic-like frigates, that would be completely useless anyway due to their limitated tank and tank-potential.

CCP introduced hdicts to make industrials more cath-able and to heavily nerf supercapitals. MOMs weren't that weak and tackable before empyrean age, were they?
now T2 industrials got boosted, and you won't catch em anyway, so the only defeated side on the infinite nerf-battle are the supercapitals (and minmatars, AH) ______________________________________________

Personally I'd prefer to see the glass-cannon battleships/mid-naughts specialised in taking down supercaps and not much else before I see T2 supercaps.
That said and done, it'd be kinda cool, though I'd like to similarly see different standard (dockable) capships first too.

No, like i said before i think motherships need a dedicated role to justify their use, NOT their price (which is fine).
Expatiate on modifications to aforementioned motherships? To be perfectly honest i have no idea, but then that's not my job

Yep. Absolutely. I'm not only reluctant to think about it, it's the last thing that this game needs.
EvE needs to stop getting bigger and bigger and bigger and put a little more focus on some other ship classes for once.
The power creep has pushed four ship classes out of this game already, the LAST thing we need is another capital ship.

There was talk/discussion of a large ship transport for moving alot of large rigged ships around. If that was ever perused i would think it would be required to be a new gate based cap.

do you really think CCP can simply continue to add sub-capital stuff to the game without umbalancing it and just pretend that capitals are fine?

Oh I agree. They DO need to work on capitals some more. Capitals need to have a drawback that's debilitating enough, so that every player in EVE doesn't automatically chart a course to capital ships on EVEmon the day after he/she starts playing the game.
Capitals need to be a two edged sword. Instead they are uber pwn machines that every corporation needs dozens of just to stay competitive in the increasingly "capitalized" theme of the game.

You don't seem to have a reason or role in mind for new supercaps beyond "wouldn't it be cool". As people have explained capitals are already heavily marginalizing sub cap fleets in 0.0. Conceptually huge cap battles may sound exciting but it's pretty boring to play. More supercaps with new whizzbang features would undoubtedly make that worse.
Hope you like training for years to be really useful then sitting laggy in an immobile hunk of junk occasionally switching targets and pressing F1-3.

It might be better if the DPS-escalation stopped at capitals and the only supers were non-combatant command platforms (or fighter and defense-only) that exist primarily to grant gang bonuses.
If CCP changes the Leadership rules so that Gang leaders give bonuses only when on-grid, super-capitals with many times the current HP and tank would have a role as a optional tactical objective in fleet fights: destroy the titan first or make it leave and the rest of the fleet becomes easier to kill; or focus on the fleet and ignore the titan; or fight the fleet for a while until their ability to defend the titan is reduced and then kill the titan, etc. What we need are gameplay mechanics that create a variety of strategies, not a variety of lame exploits that make all other options ineffective.

Here's another difference, no role for any subcaps that aren't hictors or dictors.
so, you're going out without your support fleet? not even falcons? ______________________________________________

we need Capital Recons, and Capital Dictors.
(I'd like a capital interceptor for tackling, and a capital Covert op for probing constellations)

Posting my support in a thread I haven't read but the keywords mining, veldspar and capital sized mining lasers is rumored. Win win win! Needs supercap with mining abilities besides the mighty Veldatars.

Personally i think Super Capitals like the Titan class should be bannen from Eve ASAP. Ships with the i win button comes close to cheating. Whe need to go back to the old fashion Pvp-ing tbh. Carriers,Dreads and motherships are fine but the Titan class ships are just bull****.

supercaps.. hmmmm
i am sitting in a mothwership and has been for months... its REALLY borring... the logistic behind it is hugh wich is fine. the damage it deals SUCKS every person with a litlle brain can outrun fighters... and the list continous..
a dedicated role would be ausome.. like moms should build ammo etc for the fighters... and as i see it the titan has a complete wrong role OR a new ship would be needed... say a titan/difrent ship should be able to anchor it self on the batllefield.. and the it is turning into a portable station... stuff like that would be FUN and own... might not be titan ofc but a difrent ship.. also its silly u cant dock em up somewhere to insure etc.. also to get out of the ship, i dont know many people who wants to leave there mothership in space.. not even at a pos. u cant trust anyone nowadays wich we see often. corpthiefs etc..
make it posible to dock em or anchor them or ANYTHING!!!

i want to see 5 titans group up and turn into voltron!
and extend that line of thought all the way down to frigs YES!
Mini voltrons !!
and just for the hell of it include shuttles. but since they didn't start with weapons.. or slots... nice flying robots but thats about it =>
oh course. it only works if they are of the same race....
But wouldn't it be awesome to watch a Mimatar bunch group up. and start losing parts from the rust !

T2 caps would be nice but we have engough ship types what we needs is more ships ie
We have 5 frig hulls so why not 5 bc , 5 bs etc
that would be nice and also a t2 tier 2 bc etc
We need less ship nerfs and more ships
And as titans having no weapons thats just stuiped .. I like teh secs and teh boobies |

A capital ship that can actually mine would be an advantage. So far all the new mining ships we've had since the Exhumers have been passive support ships. I'm a miner, I smash roids, I don't want to sit in a ship bored out of my skull watching other players smashing roids and haulers hauling the ore back to the station.
The most exciting part about being a Rorqual/Orca pilot is popping NPC spawns with drones and tractoring in the occasional can. -- There's a simple difference between kinky and perverted. Kinky is using a feather to get her in the mood. Perverted is using the whole chicken. All this has happened before and will happen again |
