Quote: No, it's more like putting your wallet down on the ground at the park while trying to get comfortable and having someone run up, take it, and run off. Most cops will haul a person into jail for that, or at the very least let you make the criminal bleed a little. It'll be nice when stealing ore will flag you, since most of us are well armed while mining to deal with rats. Then, like in reality, we can exact gruesome punishment on the poor saps who try to steal from us.

...ever wonder why you are not allowed to anchor a can in 1.0-0.8 newbie space? because you are not supposed to can mine there! if u jet-can mine anywhere u accept the risk. if u get stolen from, it's too bad for you because you were exploiting the cargo-jettison system in your greed to steal ore from newbies without risk in safe space.
either mine in lower sec with secure cans like you are supposed to, or stop whining when a ore-thief does his duty and helps CCP get corps and mining gangs outta newb space- in fact thank the ore thief for taking the time to clean up all your can littering.
dammit, i used to hate ore theives, but now i am beginning to see the light... at least ore-thieves don't insessantly spam the forums with whining rants as if this is something new; there have been ore thieving in eve for over a year- u know the rules, if u don't like it then stop feeding them jet-cans!
"...waa, he just stole another of my jet-cans AGAIN waaa..." <then continues to jet-can mine anyway...> wth!

I'm new to EVE and even I know never to mine without a indy next to me, wtf is wrong with you people?
You got your miner doing the thing and indy alt sitting there beside you, all he can rob from the jet can is the mining bookmark. :) ________________ Midshipman Syren_Dreamer(Mining & Transport) - Logistics Division - Hadean Drive Yards

I used to think ore thievies were very sad people. Having read the volume of whining it produces though, I can see why though do it. Absolutely hilarious.

You actually PAY for two accounts, in the SAME game? That's really kind of sad. That's why I tend to mine with my corp. That way one of us runs an indy and the rest do the mining. But one person trying to do it all themselves with multiple accounts? It just seems so incredibly antisocial and sad. Although, I guess it brings new meaning to the term 'Playing With Yourself' eh?

In other words, stop jet can mining in secure space and use secure cans, no such thing as an ore thief as the ore didn't belong to you after you threw it in the garbage.
EDIT: And you might as well remove that pic now, before Polaris removes it for you since you cannot post pictures in posts.
so, i should stop using cans that are biodegradeable and will dissipate in an hour or so, and replace them with ones that are permanent? isn't that a contradiction?
furthermore, if you would communicate with others, they might inform you that they plan on removing their "trash" when they are done working.
oh wait. that's right. you can't fight stoopidity with common sense. sorry! my bad!

How are we supposed to know that they will clean up after themselves? Besides, ore liberators help clean up space faster than the time it would take to be destroyed itself! -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Sure you can! You just have to deliver it suspended in a plasma state inside a titanium shell.

you didn't comment on the contradiction stated. and, i believe there is a local chat channel you can use. if that fails, you can send an eve-mail or even start a private conversation with the miner if you wanted to be nice about it. check out the Online FAQ, or check out the Help or Hilfe channels in-game by clicking on the Channels icon in your NeoCom (the big bar of buttons to the left or right-hand side of your screen or game window, depending on your configuration) for information about interacting with other players. this is an MMORPG afterall...

Piggy people, today I found many 100,000's of ores just laying around, clutering up space. About 600k total, mostly plagioclase. Redclaws who posted above was new, and so I didn't clean up his piggy mess, and was nice to him - heeeeh, Can't wait to see you again Redclaws.
Also today I came up on a Dominix with 8 harvester drones going and suddenly the ship was gone, just poof. The drones could all be picked up but one. One drone said I couldn't pick it up, another bug? Guess the guy lost con? That's the 2nd day in a row I've got harvester drones, as well as a few mining drones and a few heavy drones.
Three people attacked me today, all with frigates, all almost killed me, but Concorde saves us law abiding citizens from you piggy vigilanties. Probably if 2 or more frigates attacked me, you'd get me, but that might be kinda expensive. At the same time on another pc my maxed miner with mining 5, astrogeology 5, etc. mined all day far far away from you folks, in 0.0 space, as part of a massive mining op. Arkanor, I love you.
PS: someone said "you pay for more than one account?" Hahah I have SEVEN accounts little ones. Too bad I don't have 7 pc's, wheeeee. Yeah, I like this game and I support it.
PSS: Lastly, I would like to mention that if you come visit me in 0.0 space like I say in my Bio, not only will I take your ore but I'll pod you, and then you will really cry and call me a griefer because you can't think of anything more creative to say. You can always tell the care bears; Care Bears = Number of Times using the word Griefer in each sentence. If you can't handle the game go play something like checkers.

Err, you use it about once per sentance. And no offence but 7 accounts? Mining Ark in 0.0 while buzzing n00bs in empire? You must be really bored with life in general if you prefer to spend your time like that.
The idea isn't to steal your ore people, its more to get you to respond by shooting and thus have concord on your arse. This is something that n00bs don't know too much about. Griefer I think. Lets face it, you make more cash mining than you do stealing the stuff others are mining. So the point is just to be annoying. Virtual Socio-path. What more can I say?

And I quote from the faq of eve..
5.5 Is it possible to loot other players’ characters?
Yes, to a limited extent. When a ship is destroyed, some parts of it will revert into the ship’s cargo container and will be left floating as space debris. This container can be opened and emptied by anyone.
You cannot loot the cargo container of a ship that is intact or steal from another character’s private hangar.
The last part of this statement clearly says players may not loot the CARGO (not secure) conatainer of another players ship while said ship is still intact....
So why can ppl steal from a jettisoned can while the ship is still intact.
If they blew up your ship then stole the ore i could understand
