But it was OK, because their cheque cleared.
Oh, and an ex-business associate's ex-employer is suing the company he used to run, despite the fact he's currently doing five years for fraud. I understand he got off lightly, as I believe there was a meeting between the Italian market gardeners he ripped off and the outlaw bikers he ripped off (the bikers claimed he took them for thirteen, but I think they are exaggerating. It couldnt have been more than three or four).
And people say that EvE is a harsh and cold world. Mu-wa-hah-haaaaaa.
In the real world, Chribba doesnt hold the money.

When first introducing yourself to a community, being boastful is not going to win you many friends. There is a fine balance between communicating what you can bring to the table and how you communicate it. In this community actions speak louder then words and TRUST is the most valued trait one can obtain.
The hardest challenge facing someone with real world skills is actually looking at what you do in real life and determining which of those skills you can actually apply in Eve. What are the skills that market/industrial people currently value? At this point in time execution related skills (eve market knowledge, management, using character trained industry/market skills and basic finance 101) are needed on the industrial and market sides of eve.
You would be better off stating exactly what value you can provide to an individual person or cooperation instead of ôhigh level vagueö consulting services. Perhaps if you put time into a business model/service offering, you might be more successful in people being interested in hiring you for your knowledge and subject matter expertise.
You need to approach this community as you would a real business. If you donÆt want to put in the time because real world cash or your time is more important then thatÆs fine. But donÆt expect people who have put in 100s of hours to want to spend/risk their hard earn isk on someone who is not willing to put in the time. You have to earn your reputation by convincing people you know what you are doing and that you provide some value add service that they are interested in.
I donÆt mean to sound harsh, but the fact is you have to clearly state what value you can bring. I am part of a top 5 business consulting firm and managed a practice myself. I have found in my 12+ years in this industry that many consultant companies and consultants are a waste of the clients money as nothing of real value was achieved at the end of the day.
So you need to clearly explain what real value you bring to the people in this forum with your services and then you will win some business. Perhaps have a payment model where you don't get paid unless they see the value (whether subject of objective).
Bottom line: Tell me exactly why I should hire you and what value can you bring to my company? How will you help me? Structure you fees so that you win only if the client wins. As an known this is the best way to get started. Once you prove yourself then perhaps you can charge a base fee up front.

No worries, I'm here to balance you out with my mere 20 years. That brings us to ~29 as the average, not a bad guess F90OEX
