The EVE Online Quantum Rise 1.0.2 patch has been deployed and Tranquility has returned to service. If you have an issue after the deployment, please check the below list as well as the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report. If you are unsure of what has been changed in this patch, please take a look at the Patch Notes page.
*Important* A small number of players have experienced a problem with the blue.dll not being found during the patching process to Quantum Rise 1.0.2. To remedy this problem, players should restart their computers and download this ZIP file. Replace the files by extracting the contents into the bin folder of your eve installation folder (typically c:\program files\ccp\eve\bin\) and saying "yes" to replace files. Players should completely reboot their PC's before install.
Please keep discussion constructive and on-topic. Posts not directly related to the patch deployment, bugs or issues will be deleted.
The Dev Team will be monitoring this thread throughout the next few days to keep abreast of the patch deployment and status.
Known Issues: Items will be added to this list based upon feedback in this thread.

Well done you've just made me have to hard power off my laptop ... the first time in about 6 months !
The patching went fine on all the Macs we have in the office, we are looking into the issues being reported by some Mac users and will update the Mac feedback thread when we have more info. ------------------

Originally by: BlueVine Running Steam on Win32, premimum, after downloading the patch and beginning install I get a "Patching error in resui.stuff. The specified file did not have the correct CRC. This indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE-online." This happens both with the automatically downloaded patch and the manual downloaded one.
sooo.... re-downloading the full app. (or is there a quicker fix while I wait?)
The manual patch here has been reported to work fine, Steam users have however been having issues with patching a client started through Steam. Are you referring to that patch when you say manually downloaded or are you patching from an older build?
Also make sure that there is not an instance of exefile.exe running on your system when you start patching, you can find out by opening task manager and looking under the processes tab. ------------------

I'm on Windows Vista and using STEAM to access Eve Online.
Since can't get patch to work, am downloading the full build. Aggravating.
Manually downloading the patch I linked above, then rebooting your machine and applying the patch should resolve your issue. We are working on resolving the apparent issues Steam users are reporting but simply starting the client directly instead of through the Steam launcher seems to resolve this. ------------------

the common.ini should look like this:
// [main] version=5.20 build=70393 codename=EVE-EVE-RELEASE region=ccp cryptoPack=CryptoAPI sync=70393 branch=//depot/games/eve-release/eve appname=EVE useScriptIndexFiles=1
//
If you copy everything between the // markers (including the last empty line) and paste it into your file it should no longer fail the CRC check. ------------------

The safest bet is always to download a fresh client of latest build, the workarounds described here are only aimed at resolving the immediate issue of people not being able to connect right after the patch but using them increases the chances of running into similar issues come next patch.
If you have had any issues then I strongly recommend that you download a new client as soon as possible from here. In the meantime you can enjoy playing Eve Online: Quantum Rise ------------------

Please take a look at this knowledge base article on how to optimize client performance. You might also want to browse the issues and workarounds topics here.
If you are experiencing performance issues in specific situtations that you can easily reproduce then you can file a bug report here, please include as much detailed information as you can in case you file a bug report, this will make it easier for us to identify what could be causing your performance issues. ------------------

Valve disabled the overlay for EVE temporarily since after a Steam client update on 14 Nov EVE users were unable to update (the issue was discovered when we released Quantum Rise 1.0.1 on 22 Nov). Valve is working on the issue and will re-enable the overlay as soon as they have a resolution and have released a Steam client update.

Valve has released an update to the Steam client. See here:- "Fixed a potential overlay crash in games that run ShellExecute with a very long command line."

People in FW say this is not true. Any clue when this will be reality and not just Marketing gumpf?
This is reality; since the release of StacklessIO and EVE64 there have been numerous fleet fights with 500-1000 participants.

Still disabled. Doesn't even show to other people I am in the game.
Valve has confirmed to us that they have just re-enabled the chat overlay for EVE. We have tested it on our end and everything checks out OK. Does it work for you now?
