If you go to Minerals//Ore section, you will see different types of comets. Er..?? What? Comets? Can you scoop them or something? Can you refine them? I do not understand. --------------

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

Heh I can picture MWD'ing to intercept a comet and being like "hey hold still let me mine you" and it shoots off at 10000AU.

In-game description of Megacyte:
Quote: An extremely rare mineral found in comets and very occasionally in asteroids that have traveled through gas clouds. Has unique explosive traits that make it very valuable in the armaments industry.

Should I point out that comets don't travel any where near the speed of light so thus warp is useless for comet chasing... nah
What are you going to do? I'm going to kill them all sir |

Probably required for POS or something... either that or they have been reading my idea, Linkage, which i doubt because i only put it there a few days ago.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Umm... 6au/s = 2,994 times the speed of light...
A comet only goes like 50km/s (rl).
Google Calculator ROCKS!
edit: got the link around the wrong way

Actually comets change their speed while in orbit around which ever sun they are in proximity to., this is because they are in an ecliptical orbit which results in them passing close to the sun (sending off the 'tail' as it melts) and then moving far from the sun (rebuilding the core with particles of dust form the cloud of debris surrounding the solar system). For those who want to know what an ecliptical orbit is like then imagine an oval (squashed circle) orbit path with the sun at one end of the oval.
(note: comets are not comets if not orbiting suns in the manner described above as then they are just lumps of ice and rock, usually called asteroids)
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Of course, Captain Pendantic! To the missing-the-point-mobile!
seriously, who cares?? point still remains that being in warp is thousands upon thousands of times faster than the maximum speed of any stellar body

Comets are only asteroids or other celestial objects, which are made of mostly of water, methane, carbon dioxide.. And they are called comets only when they are near a sun - when they leave a trail of vapourated gasses. If these celestial objects aren't near sun (they don't leave trail), they aren't called comets. (but they can still be mined!) Also.. the trail is made by solar wind, not their movement. So trail always points away from the sun.
I just hope CCP developers will consider implementing existing laws of nature and not make up their own again.

PMSL....... nice one
The idea of extreme mining chasing comets down and mining there asses would be an interesting diversion even if the gains were not so high. Lets see someone AFK mine them in an indy

Pain. Looks great on other people. Its what there for. |
