This part is where you went wrong. You got prompted. You didn't read it. You said yes. You died.
Pretty simple. It's impossible to tell what you were doing to get this prompt, but regardless you got it. Even if I thought I knew what I was doing, I would've said no, stopped doing what I was doing, started again. ---

Ticondrius, that I can't remember. I think I had salvaged the last wreck before I locked target on the system rat, but I truly can't remember. BTW, I do appreciate everyones help on trying to figure this out. If it was something I did, then I will gracefully say, 'It was my fault, I'll stop complaining' That is what I'm trying to figure out.

That I have figured out Jmanis. But what was my target? I thought is was a serpentis pirate. That seems to be the 100 million ISK question. Is there a way to find out what the target was?

Try this. What does the standings log say? You can also double-click the standings log entry for more details on that entry. ----- I'm a collector! Want to trade? See my Collection List and contact me. |

id say you shoot a wreck.. since you target so quick hit salvage, target next and fire.. by the tiem the last target might be salvaged/killed and guns activate on next target, that sadly was a wreck prolly
i lost 1 ship due to that fast stuff :P

We have a winner! Not the answer I wanted though. (This penalty was incurred for attacking Celestt's Serpentis Medium Wreck in Enedore)
Now I think I understand what happened.
Here is the sequence of events as I think they happened.
1) Serpentis rats attacked our mining opp, I counter attacked with drones. 2) Someone in the opp killed the rat right as I finished targeting. 3) Somewhere between where the log says, 'Targeting failed because target no longer exist', and the time I told my drones to attack, and the time the warning game up, (which I still don't remember seeing, but the log says was there. No, I have not deactivated any of my warnings.) My drones attacked the wreck.
It's a fluke IMHO. sequence of events happening so fast, that a chain reaction disaster ensued. I don't like the answer, but there it is. TY for all your help in helping me to understand this. I wasn't concorded for attacking 'serpentis' as the GM stated, I was concored for my drones attacking a wreck that belonged to someone else. SHEESH!!!

Originally by: Aisling Untamo Ticondrius, I was targeting a system rat, or so I thought. When the target locked, I engaged my drones, again, so I thought. No, I don't have warnings disabled, but in the heat of battle, it would be easy to miss. That much I will give to CCP. But, again I say, I was told I was concorded because I attacked Serpentis. If I had attacked a wreck belonging to someone else, wouldn't that have shown up on the logs??
not so easy to miss ya got to close the window or click yes to initate said action ....that being said yeah looks like ya got a wreck killed

You can see right before you got the warning notification it said that your targeting failed because the target is no longer present. Your drones will auto-attack an NPC that aggroes you. What likely happened is you went to target the rat but your drones popped it on their own before your targeting was complete. However, you went ahead and said "engage target" which caused you to tell your drones to attack a wreck. The warning notification popped up, but for whatever you somehow click through the warning and attacked a Serpentis Wreck, which caused you to get Concorded. ----------------------------------------------------

Hope this doesn't happen again. I know I've lost some expensive ships due to stupid coincidences or just not-thinking before. Happens to everyone. The real lesson in EVE is that it's not over, no matter how many ships you lose, until you give up

So fast, except for the whole 'are you sure' dialog that appeared. If you're camping it out in empire, shooting npcs, you should have enough time to read dialogs. -.- - - - - - - - - - Do not use dotted lines - - - - - - - If you think I'm awesome, say BOOO BOOO!! - Ductoris Neat look what I found - Kreul Hey, my marbles |

While it does appear to be the OP's fault it does not take away the fact that he/she had a bum reply stating that the reason was because he/she attacked serpentis, for this lack of customer support/care alone he/she should get the ship back as a good will gesture if nothing else.

The GM's should have been able to explain this to the guy rather than saying he attacked the Serps. I wonder how good their logging system is if all they can say is "it's correct" without being able to explain how. |
