Given your almost pathetic lack of standing with this community, I have to wonder a) why you care and b) why you think anyone else would care what you think?
I would think you saying this is a bad thing means we actually need MORE six man corps
But, again, its you - who cares what you think?

Because some of us don't give a **** about 0.0 alliances and the bull**** powertrippers that go with it. ---

Q: What's the difference between a 6 man and a 600 man corp?
A: 594 Alts, noobs, old accounts, and inactive members.
I've never been in a 'small corp' like below 10 men small, but honestly, I've seen gangs of six to ten men ravage 0.0 space just by killing ratters, and engaging the bleery-eyed and poorly organized resistance, so a six man corp is worth quit a bit more than a damn, and more worth perhaps an oh ****.

9 man corp is where it's at. 6 is too weak to do anything at all in this game.

You're probably right, we do need more than 12.

When Jesus started, his corp was about 13. Unfortunately, it grew into a mega-Alliance filled with a bunch of jerkoffs.
Shoulda stayed at 13, imo.
Of course, they couldn't stop him from being ganked, so you take the good with the bad, I suppose. ---- For those of you who claim to support the troops and oppose national health care, I have a question. Why do you insist on punishing our veterans with free health care? |

Funniest thread I've read in a while I reckon.
But here's my answer for what it's worth and I'm sure as sure going to be repeating what's already been said, but it doesn't matter really what anyone thinks so here goes.
Small corps exist because the members either
a) don't log on that often but can't be bothered or don't have time to change to a different corp so the offices are still around.
or, and I'm sure this is the majority
b) they're made up of 5 (or omg!! even six!) people who've either met in game or real life that get on together and want to work together to do whatever it is they enjoy doing when they want to do it without actually having to bear in mind too many powerbloc epeens and egotestically-paranoid diplomats. This small band of players working together to get things done, be it industrial, research, pvp combat/defence/pirates/mercs - can actually communicate and plan a lot more effectively than a 200 man (or woman) corp/alliance and usually (as has been pointed out) can be more succesful than a large blob being led by several loud voices saying different things and leading in different directions.
I believe however the main reason why people don't corp merge that often is because there is a lot of investment in the identity of the corp, even if you do "just" run missions or mine the odd few belts every week, it still has the power of recognition and that's a good thing.
Can you imagine how BORING the game would be if every player was forced in to one of two or even four sides!
Well, now I hope you realise that Eve IS a PVP game. Player Versus Player. While some team up for the benefit of the immediate group including themselves, it's likely it's also to the detriment of their neighbours trying to do the same thing.
Okay, so the corp is in an alliance, thankfully (if that's the right choice of word) it doesn't bother the alliance what I/we do within certain guidelines of course so that's alright and it gives everyone more people to talk to, compete with and so on.
Napro - I think you don't enjoy Eve as much as you could because you don't make friends easy, or if you do you don't keep them for long.
Also - you will rarely find a poor mission running 6 man corp in empire.

Edited by: Iria Ahrens on 06/12/2008 05:00:27 I can understand the 6 man corps. But what is the point of a one man corp? Isn't that extra fees for no gain?

Hmmm, fees? Like an office division to help sort out the stuff so it's easier to find AND be able to interact with it remotely (with the right skills). It's worth the price really.
Also with good trade skills and standings you can as a trader of course reduce the fees somewhat so they're neglible.
Oh and if it's a case of having trouble finding 2M isk per month for the alliance bill (which I believe is waived actually - Thanks guys) then that's a seperate issue totally.
No - the only real downside to being in a one man corp is that the corp chat can really get monotonous after a while. Although with the right patch you can incorporate a really good echo effect into the corp channel.
There are many many more downsides running a corp that has more than 25 members though, unless you can spread the work load to very (VERY) good people across multiple time zones.
