Hi,
Not sure if this is the most right place to ask following question, but i'll give it a shot anyway.
Is there any way to reset a Positive standings towards some specific NPC Corp ? Recently i've done some mission by mistake and now as consequence my Corp's standings got effected, basically screwed(jump clone related). Is there any way to fix that up(reset standings towards npc corp(not faction) to Null), or the only solutions now are: a) raise my standings to 8+ to match the corp one, or b) quit the corp.
Unfortunately i don't have the time to mission run several hundreds of missions to reach the corp's standing, nor i want to quit the corp, cos i've got some good friends there.
please help..

Hi
Sadly, no
Even if you - somehow - managed to get exactly the same negative standing as you now have positive, you'll end up with zero standing.
But ZERO standing differs from NO standing, so your standing will be calculated into your corps standing.

maybe it's time to request from game designers some in-game feature to set standings to selected npc corp to "No Standings" ? Obviously to avoid exploitation this feature should work only in cases when you have positive standings. Only that way there would be no harm/exploitation. If i'm missing something out, please comment.
Cons of that feature : Right now some corps (like the one i'm in) don't recruit members with small positive standings 'cos that effects the Corp's standings to some NPC corp and messes up jump clones, and possibly other features as well..

I don't understand how your corp could loose enough standings to screw with the jump clones. Doesn't a null value for standings figure into the average standings of all corp members when calculating the corps standings towards a faction or NPC Corp?
If it doesn't I would almost think that is a bug in the mechanics as all players standings towards NPC's should be calculated into the average for figuring out your corp standings. Or am I just thinking to logically?

What is currently happening is that your corp standings towards that NPC corp were 8.0 (or higher). This was based off 1 or 2 players in your corp with very high standings (most likely). Then you got standings of .01 or whatever. Now, all the players in your corp who have standings with that NPC corp have their standings averaged with yours and it lowers the average for the corp as a whole below 8.0.
Sadly, your only solutions are the ones you have listed. With the proper Social skills, some planning involving storyline agents and some luck, you can cut it down to where you only have to run dozens of missions to raise your personal standings towards that NPC corp to the point where your personal standings don't pull the player corp's average down. Or you can leave the corp.
This is why corps that recruit new members should keep a shadow corp for JC standings, if that is a concern for them. Other corps automatically kick people out who disregard instructions about not working for certain corps and screwing everyone's JC ability up. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

Bigger corporations often use Roqual's for jump clone creation as it can mount medical bay. For newer players who want to leave their implant clone in empire before heading out to 0.0. In 0.0 stations one can often get the jump clones without any problems. Also there was service offered in that 0.0 station 1 jump from torrinos a while ago (dunno if current owners do it) where you could get jumpclone for 25 mil or something like that (they granted you personal +8 standings for that for a day).

The issue isn't so much that this particular character cannot get a JC in the stations where his corp used to get them, but that no one in the corp can get JCs in the stations where they used to get them, due to his having borked the corp standings. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

Does anyone else think the way corp standings are figured is kind of messed up?
I mean if NPC corp X has never heard of me (no standings), then I don't affect my corps standings at all, but the instant I do one level 1 mission and raise my standing to 0.01, my corp's standing with corp X drops. My corp has the highest standings with corps that only one person has done any missions for and mediocre standings with corps that everyone has at least some positive standings for. This seems counter-intuitive to me.
I'm not sure how to fix this, but I do think it's a problem. Does it make sense that Corp X thinks more highly of a corp with only one person they've ever heard of, or a corp where most or all members have at least done some work for them? Maybe have standings between -1 and 1 not affect corp standings? Maybe use some formula besides a straight average? Maybe add the highest positive and lowest negative standings to determine the standing and the other standings affect how quickly it gets there? I dunno.

You can buy yourself a week's grace period by quiting the corp and rejoining. The way standings work at the moment they only count corp members who've been in the corp more than a week. To stay in the corp long term you need to spend a month getting your standings up to 8+
