E.g. if your corp already has two pilots who can fly an Obelisk then you're going to find it much easier as another Obelisk pilot rather than convince your corp to buy a Charon. Additionally, I believe that the higher speed of the Fenrir can actually make a significant difference in journey time if you're autopiloting. Probably not a reason to choose it over other freighters but it is a factor nonetheless. (Plus of course there's the T1 industrials and T2 transport ships to consider - I presume that since you said "all things being equal" you wanted to discount these, which is fair enough. In practice though, they're probably one of the better things to make the decision over, given that all the freighters do pretty much the same thing, and with less than 10% difference in cargo capacity, you won't even notice the difference unless you want to haul between 720k and 785k m^3.)

Freighters can carry so much that the difference in their cargo isn't that important, they all can move "mountains". Afk hauling in high sec is the reason to pick a fenrir. Another thing that's important is which tech I industrial ship you want to fly. Iteron Mark V is obviously the reason to pick Obelisk. Providence and Charon look cool though. If you're going to train for a jump freighter pick one which uses the cheapest fuel. But really you can't go wrong with any of them. -

Obelisk -> shows up a lot because lots of people like the Iteron 5. Other thoughts: Charon gets you the Crane and Bustard. Fenrir gets you the Prowler and Mastodon Obelisk gets you the Occator and Viator and Iteron 5 Providence gets you the Prorator and Impel. Not a huge amount in it, take your pick. I've only ever filled my freighter when I was hauling trit. -- 249km locking?

Anyone done any freighter escorting since web nerf to see if it's changed? ccp fix mining agent missions % pls

Obelisk has the most structure, think the Providence is a rough balance between the other 3.

Anyone done any freighter escorting since web nerf to see if it's changed? well the web trick will still work..been doing it plenty of times after the new patch but you have to have 2 ships webbing instead of one...seams like they tried to fix it but still works

Actually after the the agility boost all caldari ships got a year a go a Charon have almost exactly the same agility as a Fenrir. It blows my mind that the aeon looks the way it does when a slightly scaled up providence would have been omgwtfamazing as the amarr mothership easily the best looking freighter and one of the better ship models in the game tbh

For the most part the two top things you want to look at is agility and cargo-capacity. In terms of 'best overall' the Charon is it. The Fenrir has the least cargo for a little more agility, the Providence has the most armor, has good agility and best looks. The Obilisk is popular because of the Itty 5 - but if you are looking ahead at transports and freighters - I would say Caldari is the best. ---- ECCM is a Counter-measure not a defense.
