Yesterday I was running Eve Online with the latest patch and everything, apart from the blurry text, was running fine and smoooth, just like any other day on Eve. And everything was fine until I went to bed around 09:00 Eve time. This morning, around 8:30 AM Eastern Standard Time (13:30 Eve time), I tried loading up the Eve client and as soon as the splash screen disappeared, the screen went black and I got an error with some technical info saying that the CCP Exefile had encountered a problem and needed to close. It looked, and still does look, like this:

I tried starting the client again, same problem. So what I did next was start up Eve in "Safe Mode". This time it worked, but the client was using the classic version. So I tried playing with some settings and came to the conclusion that the error only occurred when trying to start the Premium version.
So I did what I always do when something goes bad with the premium client, a simple uninstall of the client and reinstall using an older setup file, in this case one from Empyrean Age. So after installation was complete, I tried loading up the client and boom, same error minus the Quantum Rise expansion and any of the newer patches. This is the first time that I've encountered an error that has shown up after rolling back to an older version of the client. All other times I'm at least able to reach the login screen where it obviously shows that Incompatibility warning. This time I had to load up Safe Mode just to get there.
The next thing I tried was another reinstall of the older version of the client and then a reboot: didn't work. So I gave up for awhile and decided to just play the classic version of Eve for some time. And apart from the more-than-usual number of timeouts and closed sockets, I was at least able to get in, mess with my skills, fly around a bit, and chat with my corp mates.
As I'm writing this post, I'm downloading the full client in preparation for some additional debugging. I'm gonna try a few things to see if I can't get the premium client to boot error-less. I'll post back if I get anywhere.
Here are my system specs should any of you notice a software/hardware similarity between those of us who are having this problem.
*Windows XP Pro 32Bit SP3 *Asus P5N-E SLI (650i SLI Nvidia Chipset) *Intel C2D E6600 2.4Ghz O-Ced @ 3.6Ghz *Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 (vanilla from EVGA) *3.25GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Memory (I know. I shouldn't be running 4 Gigs of ram on a 32Bit OS. Just deal with it.) *Anti-Virus Product is Windows Live OneCare (I recommend this. Microsoft did well here.) *Misc. Info: I always run Eve in fullscreen. I usually force a custom graphics profile using nHancer, but haven't since I started debugging.
One last bit I would like to add. I have not experienced any of the reported memory leak issues, even when playing on client. Everything was performing smoothly last night after patching apart from the blurry text. The Exefile error and my inability to start the premium version of the client all started this morning.
