Because you whined.. CCP will instantly bend to your whim and put the entire deployment team on updating the test server that maybe 200 out of 450,000 eve users sign on to each day. They will foresake all else to make this happen just for you
get real and get over yourself. its not brutal honesty its CCP choosing between what is more important at any given instant to make sure everyone in eve is taken care of so we can all enjoy the game. got a problem with that? do it yourself, and youll see how hard it is. then emo rage quit from life please

Making a new mirror for SiSi takes slightly longer than that (more in the multi-day range).

still you pay for tq and sisi is a free service from ccp, which one you use how often is up to you. what i dont get is why they keep promising the new mirror and meanwhile keep failing at deploying it finally. if you can't do it within the time you promised, stop promising further and announce the new mirror right before the actual deployment tbh.

Try workin' in a game company like CCP and try to respect delays when you get unexpected issues. They are not robots, they are humans, thus winter vacations didn't help, obviously. With all the pilots, ships, modules, transactions and etc in eve... I have a feeling that the EVE Database takes some time to copy, let alone write to another set of disks, and yes I think it's safe to say that the EVE DB couldn't be held on a single drive, nor should it be due to the need for redundancy. But just my opinion. |

well i can certainly live with a delay once and then, but the new mirror for sisi is really long overdue. how many times did they promise that it'd be mirrored in the next 1-2 weeks? too often imho
and did you hear anything about "unexpected issues"? 'cause i didn't. they keep promising and not holding their promise without even telling us why the deployment is delayed. thus it just looks to me like they were too lazy to do it in time and then thought "oh wtf, we're too late already, screw this ****, we're gonna do it some other time."
and the new mirror isn't about "omfg i can't wtfpwn everything without carrying about being blown up !", you can do that now just as well as after the mirror, it's about sisi being a test server and those tests aren't very valuable when your chars on sisi and tq are completely different skillwise.

Why would a company respond to its customer's requests? Gee, I have no idea why they might do that.
It is entirely legitamate for a constumer to complain about something they have an issure about. And clearly, It is not just me that has been complaining about the lateness of the mirror. This forum is covered in people talking about this issue.
I understand you are a CCP sheep that believes CCP can do nothing wrong, but please go emo rage somewhere else. No, I work for a software company, it is not hard to mirror a server. rofl.

I know you may find this hard to comprehend, Gabriel, but disagreeing with your flawed argument does not make someone a "CCP sheep."
You can rant and rave and throw sarcasm around and cry "poor customer service!" all you want, but the fact remains that the test server is a tool operated by CCP, at CCP's whim, to serve CCP's needs. As the Devs have stated already, mirrors happen when the testing division needs them, to better facilitate the testing process. Not to make sure players always have a risk free environment in which to test a new fit or their latest shiny faction ship acquisition, or that new skill they've been waiting to finish training.
My main account is listed as unsubscribed under the current mirror, so believe me when I say I want one every bit as much as you do. I can't even function on SiSi until we get a new mirror. But you don't hear me throwing a tantrum about it. |
