Me and i hope many other minmatar are against slavery, it would be great if slavery could be completely abolished. Please post if you have any ideas on how this could be achieved for example organised attacks on ammar ships until slavery is completely abolished, some people may say that this isnt fair on ammarians who are against slavery but i say that this is the price they have to pay for slaving thousands of our people. |

My slaves are well kept, trained well and given a life free from the pressures of everyday life... and you want to take that away from them... i think you are the criminal, not I.
Most slaves were born into slavery and are happy with the life they lead, you think you know what is best for them? Perahaps not massacring the ships that the slaves live on would be a help to the slaves?
For every amarr battleship you destroy there are about 1000 slaves you kill along with it (about 4000-10000 crew members). You are evil arn't you.
The only end to slavery that is good for everyone is the gradual cultural change, anything else will only end in trouble for the slaves, and they are the only innocents in your war mongering.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Haratu? well kept? well trained? you talk of the slaves as if they are dogs which also shows how much respect you have for them, you KNOW it is wrong to slave people even if they appear to like it, it is only because they know no better.

To not know better is to be happy.
For example, imagine you are living a happy and good life. One day, however, you discover that there is a much, MUCH better life than you have right now. Would you not become dissatisfied with your current life as it is?
My opinion has nothing to do with the issue of Minmatar Slavery, however. --------------

Well, the rule doesn't work when you are mistreated. If you are horribly treated, you would know that some are not mistreated and therefore live better. I don't know how Amarr treat Minmatar slaves, so my opinion, again, has nothing to do with Minmatar slavery.
Another example: You eat a pie for breakfast every day. You think the pie is great... but one day, you go to a friend's house and try a different pie. That different pie is MUCH better. Your original pie wouldn't taste so great after you tasted your friend's pie, would it? --------------

But if you never taste your friend's pie then you are happy with your own pie and you are never jealous of anyone else. To take a biblical example... was not Adam and Eve perfectly happy in the garden of Eden? Eating fruit from the tree of knowledge ended up causing them harm. They were destroyed because they had somone else's apple pie it was greed and jealousy of God that destoyed them. Slaves likewise are in a state of peace (presuming treated well), give them freedom and they begin seeking more... thinking they can have what is not theirs, this causes arguments and turmoil amongst them selves.
Where are they better off? in Eden... or in Hell?

Haratu, you speak of your slaves though, what of other slavers, do you presume to speak for them as well?
If slavery was abolished and your slaves freed, would you not give them the chance to stay with you by choice, as free men and women?

I freed 500 slaves last week... the info can be found here. The reason i freed them was because i had too many, i gave them the option and they went, if all my slaves wanted to go or stay then there would have been bloodshed, but there was not. Even the minmatar collector that visited had a healthy conversation. Proof that the end of slavery does not have to involve bloodshed
