G'day ladies and gents. I'll get straight to it; it's time for me to retire.
Why?
When I started playing EVE, what really drew me in was how challenging it was and how much there was to learn. I also had large chunks of time to devote to it. These days, I've accomplished pretty much every goal I've come up with and in some cases, overshot those goals (EBANK springs to mind). I am dissatisfied with the lack of time I have to devote to EVE and my personal enjoyment has waned.
Also, my RL is increasingly busy with work, my girlfriend, becoming a semi-accomplished cook, etc. To summarize, I have increasingly little time to cater to an increasing number of interests. While I was reprioritizing things in my life I suddenly came to face the fact that some things are no longer a priority for me.
A couple of things:
1. I won't be posting on the MD forums anymore. I won't be logging in either.
2. I'll be giving all my assets to EBANK to be used for whatever purpose it desires. (they get my stuff, so don't ask for it!)
3. I'll be reachable on IM or email whenever, and I don't mind chatting. Just don't expect me to be up-to-speed on the latest EVE happenings. If you need to reach me, the EBANK crew knows how.
4. I'll still be around the EBANK forums; I still think of EBANK as my baby and pretty much my biggest accomplishment in EVE. If EBANK ever does need to close down I'll probably come back to assist with that. That would pretty much be the only thing that would bring me back though.
I hope you'll forgive me, but let me indulge for a moment....
I started EVE over 3 years ago and after a few months ran smack into the markets. I was immeidiately blinded by how awesome the idea of secondary markets were in a game like this. That fascination will continue long after I stop posting. I firmly believe that what is being done here is groundbreaking in many ways, and you'll be hard pressed to find a community like this anywhere else in the world.
I've served as a CEO of a 0.0 Corp, trying to find a home in the often rough world of alliance politics. I helped form the FIN/EFS IPO documentation, create an IPO template, run numerous trading/business workshops, try to define financial instruments, and more recently...build Banks. I'm extremely proud of all of my efforts, I believe that more often than right I was correct and (just as importantly) also be able to admit when I was wrong.
I would like to thank each and every member of the EBANK team. Of all my projects, efforts, and causes...I stand most proud of EBANK. I served as Chairman of the Board, proudly, for a number of months and frankly; it's been an honor.
There are a number of people I feel very lucky to have met and worked with, too many to even begin to name. I wish you all the best of luck and good fortune.

Enjoy your real life, Hexxx. Your presence and posts in MD will be missed; there's no denying you've had a substantial impact on the trading community in EVE, two examples being your IPO template and lectures on trading. Take care.

You may not have founded EBANK but you have made it what it is today.
This community owes you quite a bit for what you've done. Not the least of which has been the general infrastructure and regulatory framework for IPO's. You can claim accomplishments on par with but a handful of other players.
It's a shame you won't be here when EBANK's virtualized IPO market goes live as that would seem to be the crown jewel of your accomplishments. EBANK, as built under your leadership, will have become so trusted and synonymous that it will be an economy unto itself with trading and transfers taking place purely within it. That is truly an unparalleled feat.
I can appreciate RL pulling you away but I hope you'll poke your head in every now and again. After all, you will be missed.

Tough choices after somuch investment of time, I think I never can set myself to throw it all away like you are doing.
But life has it's touch choices, and it shows character you made your own.

You dont know me as I am a lurker on the MD forums, but I have read these forums for a year or two now. I seldom post but given the news of your retirement, I just wanted to come out of the shadows to say a really big thank you for all the time and effort you put into Eve, MD and the secondary economy. EBank is a huge accomplishment, I applaud you!
