Well then you are not reading your own graph right as the precision gets slightly better after around 1000 m/s. And costs a fraction of what faction ammo does.
But yes its not exactly news that t2 ammo needs work.

Precision missiles were never intended to be used on a like-sized target. Try your precision heavies on frigates with various fits (i.e. AB, MWD, MWDing-'ceptor, etc.) before drawing any conslusions. Mind you, I'm not disagreeing with you; they could well be crap against frigates too but you should check that before writing them off.
What I can tell you, however, is that since there is no smaller-than-a-frigate target that precision lights generally aren't worth the range penalty they impose. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Percision lights are for drones that aren't shooting at you.

Heavy Missiles Precisions are totatly useless, basically its about 10 less sig radius on the missiles for the loss of 80-90 damage. The only viable way of fixing them is to dramtically increase there explosion velocity in order to make them a effective counter against afterburning targets of around the same ship type. (IMO)

There's another thing. I'm seeing a "damage reduction factor" (DRF) on missiles. The precision missiles have a DRF of 2.7 while the standard and faction missiles have a DRF of 3.2. Whatever that means. That seems the most significant change (aside from halving the flight time for precision missiles, bleh!).

Yes. Smaller drf means that when your target speed increases your missile with smaller drf will lose damage slower to the speed than the one with higher drf.
And yes - at low target speeds faction missiles will beat the crap out of precisions.

Whereas, at high speeds, the target will be using a MWD, so faction missiles will beat the crap out of precisions (and they have twice the range).
So, why do Precisions exist at all?
