If a player messes with the sentry guns, or does something to pi ss off the sentry guns in 0.1-0.4 This means they will get criminally flagged. That means you can affectively fight back without the sentry guns turning around and firing at you..
This makes the sentry guns your ally. So i think they should remain.

I understand where your coming from, but consider this. If your travelling down into lower sectors, and you know the gates can be dampened or tanked by say a battleship!
1. Use the map feature to see how many peeps are there 2. Send in an alt to take the risk ( saves a lot of ships and clones ) 3. Set up your ship to haul a**. A fast moving ship is hard to hit! 4. Use a ship with target jamming abilities. If they start locking you and shooting, target jam them to where it knocks their lock off. Then move on to wherever your going.I beleive once they have shot you, your allowed to agress back. Also, you could try REMOTE SENSOR Boosting the sentries to increase their scanning range if they are dampened. I have only tested this in theory, but would love to see the results!
Just be thankful that sentries aren't as useless as they used to be in low security sectors.
If this game had no risk, it would be like playing any other video game out there. Getting shot at can really get the old ticker pumping. Lastly, remember this is just a game!!

Second, sentry guns are meant to defend, not to eliminate. I recently had a bout with CCP regarding this issue where the sentry guns were switching targets every shot.
As CCP stated, they 'don't see a problem with sentry guns' however, 'if they are abused they will be upped.'
Well that's honky dory, meaning sure they'll fix them once everyone starts abusing them, but if it's one or two corps who cares!
So i say join em, i plan a big gate gank fest in empire in the upcoming weeks, hope i see you all there!

Low security space is supposed to be dangerous. That is a risk you take while visiting there. Build yourself a fast cruiser that goes over 2,000 ms and power away from gates that are being camped( at least 20-30 from the gate ), then warp to a celestial object. From there warp to your destination. Battleships will have a hard time tracking a fast moving cruiser. BTW, don't power away in a straight line either. If you do you will get wtfpwned!

Low security space is supposed to be dangerous. That is a risk you take while visiting there. Let me rephrase - Gate/Station Turrets in 0.1 - 0.4 systems are completely usless in keeping properly tanked BS's from ganking peeps. If the goal as to achieve this useless state of affairs then I stand corrected and I'll learn how to proply tank my BS's and join those who like to gank others.
Personally I find the use of such tactics as being just this side of chicken-sh_t but that's just me. On the other hand tanking a BS to withstand Gate/Station Turrets in 0.1 - 0.4 systems does seem to me to be a very nice "exploit" of game mechanics. Why CCP doesn't share this perspective amuses me - on the other hand I have long believed the worst PC rats in the game are really CCP employees in disguise.
You just owned your own argument (Properly Tanked Bships) IE a bship setup to tank... OMG A sentry gun? as in and OMG again a ship that is setup for that sole purpose?

Once the Sentry Gun is destroyed, you would have more power left over for the poor and defenseless who need to be preyed upon.
Is this something that has been tried and proved impossible, or would someone like to give it a shot? How much Armor and hull could they possibly have? What's that harm if you can already tank their damage anyway? Think of the benefits, even if they only stay gone til next DownTime.

This whole arguement makes no sense to me. I mean anytime I enter .4 or below I try to stay alert...though ive done it a lot now (only been playing 2 months so far)and im starting to get unaware in anything .3 and above. If they removed the guns...wouldnt that just make anything .4 and below a 0.0.
I really dont understand what you have to complain about, the idea that only a specially tuned BS can gank at a gate in .4 to .1 makes logical sense to me since its tuned for it plus its a battleship. If you were ganked well it was because you werent prepaired for that sort of attack, you stupidly assumed you would be safe around a gate in .4 to .1, I mean I know for sure id be be an easy kill for anybody like that, though im in a BS myself, but I take the risks plus i whenever I travel that way i install a lot of disrupters, wcs what have you. Plus I have my BS platnium insured and my clone up to date..so I die, I die...its only a minor hassle equipment wise.
