My question: with the invasion of Dodixie, what kind of risk do I run salvaging my level 4's? Can those people wardec us and is my salvage safe because we're so far away from planets (can they scan us down?)?

Yes they can scan you down. Yes they can wardec you. This is what wannabe badboys do. Fear not though, since they announce this several other pvp corps have been moving in system hoping to get a free wardec

If they're moving in, perhaps they should be joining us and focusing their attention to the masses of Faction Fit ships full of crying Carebears, rather than our merry rag-tag group, eh?

I think what they mean is they want to fight other PvPers, so there's a challenge. PvPers going after PvEers is the same as a PvEer doing missions. It's the same level of bear. Neither is risky. --------------------

I see what you mean now. I've always read that there are a sincere lack of good fights these days.
Of course, as we're working on the controlled domination of Dodixie, to wrench it from the grasp of lecherous Mission Runners, we're only looking for two things: Submission or Tears.
It's my experience that we shall have both. Any Corp looking to get in on the action is welcome to join us.

*shrug* If I read your thread correctely its just enough tot ell you guys in local that I got a mission for you to salvage. So if you want to salvage it before I turn it in, you need to find me first....I my say that it might be rather difficult to find a specific player in a crowded system if hes in deadspace.
And...no I wont smacktalk just for shooting cans ^^

To answer the OP, no risk at all (as long as you don't fall for can baiting tactics). Run missions as you always have, and ignore the asshats :) If they dec your corp, jump to an NPC corp at laugh at their wasted money (and war dec).

There's no grief to be had from us, and you can ask those Corporations whom have been sent against us since we've been around.
Just for those who aren't already aware - all of the "real" Corps who've stepped up (Malum Crusis, Remedy Inc., Sardakaur Merc Guild, etc.) have all fought 'above and beyond', and what I mean by this is that they never played Station Docking Games, never smacked to get a response, never pretended to disrespect our Corp just to get a fight. Hell, most of them actually did some work and scanned us down to get a fight! That's a lot more than some of the mouthpieces who sit outside the station and camp. Is that the only way to fight a war? I think not.
Some of you out there who think you need smack to goad your targets into a fight should take a page from their book - and you wonder why you weren't mentioned in the above note? Hmm.
A good example are those in the other thread are those who make false claims that we hide in stations or think that we would ever lower ourselves to come out to fight just because the smack is flying. You aren't worth our mention, nor our time, so if you're really interested in a fight, speak with some of the Corps I've mentioned above and see if you can get some lessons. They never have a lack of targets, and they always enjoy the fight.
Had any of you made a note originally - since we have been around for a year now - we're a Ninja Salvaging Corporation, which has now created an Alliance dedicated to the cause. We have a good group who PvP, and a good group who perform other duties. There are fighters and griefers from all walks, but we're definitely not a 100% PvP Corp.
When I've said this in the past, some have come out and said, "Ripe for the picking!" because they've thought they could pad their killboards with our ships, and we've quickly taught them otherwise. Sometimes, there's a fight. Sometimes (and these are personally my favourite times) we've continued our business - status quo - flying past them on undock and collecting our Carebear Tears. We collect all of the smack we see in local, and you know what we do with it? We have a Monthly Carebear Tears competition. (Yes, that's right. Our guys make ISK off of your tears, as well as the tears of hapless Mission Runners.) So, if you think we're afraid of smack, afraid of the threat of Mercs or Elite PvP'ers, think again.
Oh, and all of the Corporations I've mentioned above, the ones that deserve mentioning? We're friends with all of them now, because they recognize that we respect what they do, how they fly, and how they operate. And they respect us as well because we play this game at the level that they do, and don't fall into the trap of 'this is the way a war goes'. It's not. Think harder. It can be done.
Welcome to the world of Suddenly Ninjas. Harvesting Carebear Tears since 2008.

mmm perhaps you misunderstood the original post?
The OP is demanding that mission runners clean up behind themselves by salvaging or otherwise getting rid of the wrecks they create while doing a mission.
They have made no threat of any kind to players that salvage their own wrecks.
Assuming they are true to their word you have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Any player run corp can wardec the corp your in. Your actually at an equal risk of wardec as is everyone else in a player run corp in that regard. |

This is why I like missioning in low population systems. You don't have to deal with this sort of silliness. The simplest solution is to mission with someone other than Fed Navy in Dodixie. For example, there are 5 other gallente kill agents in high sec with better effective quality than the Dodixie agent. And a bunch that are a bit lower in quality.

You must be new to the game. You see, these aren't your typical pirates. Theyre not looking to "clean" anything up or even PVP. Theyre what I call "carebear pirates" or cryrats. If you squeeze them they sqeal louder than the loudest pigs. See also Nexa Necis, another self-proclaimed "tuff" pirate. Yet their whole fun relies on making carebears cry. Ironic isnt it? The worst kind of carebears in this game. They want to pop the easiest of easy targets, plain and simple and then poke fun at them. Dont let their "excuses" and "reasons" why they do what they do get in the way . These are carebears that hate on carebears for exactly the same reasons they're carebears themselves.

A year and 5 months older than your character. Doesn't mean I've encountered these guys in space or seen them in action.
My answer to the OP remains the same. The real ship popping threat in empire can only be by wardec.
And to answer the remainder of the OP. They can scan down your ship anywhere in space. If they find you in a mission they can salvage your wrecks (big deal). Another tactic such people use is to pull agro from all the rats and then leave so you get all the agro. If they take loots from your wrecks they get a 15 minute timer during which your free to shoot them. I don't recommend doing so unless you have corp mates to back you up. |

True. During times of War, we are also permitted to pop your pods as well, even in Empire space.

True.

Another tactic we employ is to pull aggro from all of the rats, and then lead them away from the Mission Runner, so that they may not be able to complete the Mission in time to make the timing bonus.

Many, many Mission Runners make the mistake of shooting at us, even when they DON'T have aggro. Sadly, until we have the ability to get killmails from Concord when we're fired upon, you'll just have to take my word for it that this happens more often than you think.

As a fun tidbit the last two "freelance" salvagers that have come into my missions (around Umokka) have had the "oh #ñ&ñ# rat spawn right on top of m... *BOOM*" moment :p
So at the moment my score reads: Missioner 2 - "Freelance" Salvagers 0
Both times the mission was one of the "not in deadspace" variants.
Since I use Golem, I don't really care if someone scans me out and drops in to see what there's to salvage, as there usually isn't anything :)

LOL. That makes me laugh too, and reminds me of the time I warped into a Deadspace, only to watch a Ninja Salvager in an NPC Corp "pop" to the rats...
He was using a Stabber, if I remember correctly, and I immediately salvaged his wreck and saved him from having to come back to pick up the 50+ Alloyed Trit, as well as about 5-10M worth of additional loot from his cargohold. It would seem that he had been salvaging for hours, and hadn't bothered to dock up to empty his cargo.

I would like to add that the "safest" mission to run is the Recon mission where you fly through the gas cloud- we've had many "whoops" moments where we warp to zero on a scan result, only to explode from the gas cloud.

Yes, they can, though if mission farer then 5au from planet it will be much harder to scan you down on it... unless you'll gonne use those lamy heavy drones. With then every noob will scan you (not actualy use, but your drones) down in no time.
So solution is realy simple... dont use drones (you can take an EC drones as extra effort to use them if you got scaned anyway)? and fit at least one ECCM. Oh and, dont use marauder, they also very easy to scan...
Dont forget to make an undock bookmarks, otherwise they'll get you on undock easily.

I dont know what the mission disrupting guys must think when you come into somebodies mission. A frigate steals from your loot. Are you really going to engage a 2 Million ISK ship in a faction fitted ship & risk the loss-I know I'm not. I just let them get on with it-all flashy red & in most instances they just get fed up & find some other "willing" victim.

and when that frigs 15 lousy friends show up in BCs or BSs since you got triggerhorny and shot their gangmember.. then.. what? Loose CNR+factionsmods etc?.. doesnt really sound too clever in my ears tbh.. Tanking a frig isnt really a problem for most missionrunners running lvls4s but his brave pals are. ~~o~~ Shike from DAoC ~~o~~ |

Unfortunately being a high-sec carebear there's not alot I can do if a ninja salvager comes into my mission. I'm not going to get my faction-fitted BS blown up by concord just to pop his dime-a-dozen frigate. |

For this purpose I like to keep a spare combat drone in my salvaging Vigil. I've never had anybody concord themself trying to shoot it, but when they do, I'll have a chance of getting a few hits before they go down! .............
