I'vs just bought an apoc (2nd bs after a geddon) and i'm thinking on a fitting to blow up blood raiders (wich a corpmate in a raven). i'm currently running it wich that setup: -6 megabeam and 2 siege launcher (inferno torpedoes) -3cap recharger (named cause i havn't enought skill to use tech II) and a traking computer. -1 large armor reparer (named who give 660hp), 1 medium armor reparer (288hp), a named heat sink, 1 rcu and 3 cap power relay.
I can't use Hardener or Med reparer II so i'm limited wich my low slot's setup (i know i'm a noob but wich 2.1m skill points i can't have everything )

How do these people get battleships?!
I have 3.4 mil SPs and have 8 mil and a frigate lol.
Want my advice? Lose the BS and use a Thorax or Moa, easier to fit with your skills, go for range and 250s, nothing can touch you and do plenty damage. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

I think that's a pretty good setup for a newb.
Try to get the hardeners as fast as possible. Get rid of the medium armor repairer and fit one heat hardener in there. Blood raiders always do em and heat damage thus you're good to go with 60% Em and 67,5% Thermal resistance.

Ah and do not forget some CMs, they can come in handy for these Npc frigates scrambling you - especially if you have no drones yet.

Use Radio Crystals and swap out the inferno torpedos for the EM ones. Blood Raiders are weakest against EM damage so thats the way you should go.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Consider a large SB for the scrambling interceptors, it will kill all of them much faster than CMs. Dunno how many times a Large SB has saved my life when being scrambled with two BS rats approaching. I have an Arma so fitting a launcher is not an option but the SB does work great.

Thats a pretty smart setup for a noob. You got the basics right. However, becuase of limited skill, it won't be as effective as you'd like it to be.
Also, why not hunt in the Armageddon? The Rate of Fire bonus is really nice, and makes the Arm more damaging than an Apoc. However, the apoc is better suited to taking abuse.

not bad indeed for a 2m+ SP fit out. Apoc's low slot fit out is always a hard decision. You'll have to go for neither Defensive i.e. Armor Hardners / 1600mm Platings or Offensive i.e. Laser Mods. Not easy for find a balance btween the two, IMO is better find a style you like and stick to it, help concentrate ur skill training as well as organize your fit out.
I myself play defensively as APOC are known for their armor tanking abilities. With 1+ 1600mm Tungsten Plate, some armor hardners and a named large armor repairer. You'll not need to worry about the rats getting through ur defense.
happy hunting :)

6 mega pulse lasers 2 siege launchers
1 mwd(if u can use it) 1 tracking comp 2 cap rechargers(3 if you can't use the mwd)
1 large repairer 1 medium (switch it to a hardener when you get the skills) 1 tracking enhancer 1 heat sink 3 cap relays
Use radio crystals with the guns...you'll have an optimal range of around 60-70km (depending on your sharpshooting skill) with a high rof, decent damage, and crazy tracking. If you need an rcu to fit the guns, switch the heat sink for it. The range you get from the tracking comp is essential for this setup to work.
PS: I got my apoc when my skillpoints were at 1.4mil, without ebay...couldn't even fit large guns on it. But it sure made me alot of isk while mining. __________________________________________________

Yep Apoc is nice setup, I use a arma myself,
its a nice balance for npc hunting and the extra bit of drone bay does help compared to apoc.
I use named dual heavy beams as with infrared I can hit out to my ship targeting range. You may want to check with mega's that radio is the best crystal for your targeting range, it might not be.
I sugget like the others get thermal hardener skill asap for bloods; also the arma extra low slot is sweet. The big prob I had b4 was that I had trouble taking down multiple bs's but with my stack of named guns thats become a lot easier, something to remember there :)
Good luck and dont forget heavy and meduim drones, the meduims are good against WS frigs which are a pain nice to have missiles there:)

Drones. Always carry drones, and get your skills up as high as you can in a reasonable amount of time.
Not all of the new elite NPC frigs that scramble come within a large smartbomb blast radius. A lot do, but not all. If you have drones you'll have to rely on missles for those ones. Always nice to have a second option

drones are always important for the frigs, but ill give u folks a tip on using them....
when i enter a spawn, lock every ship and put one laser on them each, make sure u have them all firing on u before u launch ur drones..
this way they dont switch targets from u to ur drones, which happens alot.
when u take all the drones out, warp away, recharge ur cap and warp in and take out the big boys.
