I bet you've all done this, gone into a plan for a ship, and after 2 or 3 days, just lost interest. Well I have and those leftover skills that are half done, or at level 1 or 2 drive me mad.
So I just wanted to ask, before I contact a GM directly, has there ever been any official removal of SP? I can understand the concerns GM's would have with people wanting to distribute the SP elsewhere or have it returned at a later date, but I don't, I just want it gone.

Despite it might be stupid to train for a ship, then I never think it's wasted SP. In most cases you can always use the trained timer later, if you wanna proceed in a certain other ship...mainly t2 ships. Lvl 2-3 in a ship really ain't something you should worry about. It's more annoying if you actually spend months getting several skills to lvl 5 and then ditch the plan in the end. Depending on the skills though, then they often benefit another ship.

Are you stupid, or just unable to read? I never said anything about FOTM. I want the SP gone, completely gone end of, not switched to something else..

Remove skillpoints?!
I shudder at the thought.
Actually, if you are only into the first or second level of the skills in question, why not consider starting a new character, or, depending on your overall age and accumulation of base skills, rerolling your current character?

If you have a 'somewhat severe' case of ocd towards leaving jobs half done, you might want to consider a very simple option which will solve your problem without any game changes: finish the skills....

I would like to remove some skills, too.
Why? Tbh, just to be a pure, perfectionist.
People playing this game are very different. Some dont mind having litter skills, while others find them extremely annoying.
How about "Reverse skilling"? Same sp/hour rate, but the sp decrease. And if reversing is stopped before it "completes", the progress is lost.
Insta-deleting skills would be bad. Accounts do get hijacked... Reversing sp/hour would be a bit safer solution? Maybe putting it behind additional password before reversing can be activated?

I think you're being silly, not that I didn't think the same thing myself the first week or two I played. But I reserve the right to be silly now and again.
The points already spent don't make it more difficult to learn new skills. Just switch skills and move on. Who knows, you may change your mind some time in the future and want to work on those skills again.
Personally, I think it is an advantage to switch out skills. After changing my mind so many times, there are several partial skills in my list. But, at least, when I go back to them, I pick up exactly where I left off.

Petitoned this before due to OCD and took it to a senior GM, there is nothing they can do you just have to train the skills to 4/5 for peace of mind. ___________ |

I'm in a similar boat as the OP, at some point I accidentally started training veldspar processing to 5. When I go into my skill page and look at what training jobs I need to finish up I invariably see the yellow shaded veldspar processing and remember that I'm not interested in training it any more. In my circumstance I'd be happy enough to just clear the in-progress status so it stops being yellow rather than throw away the SP but I'd throw away the miniscule SP I have over level 4 if it achieved the same end. That part I consider rational, the OCD part is that I'm actually considering finishing it off to level 5. Perhaps if we had a button to just clear the in-progress status of skills despite them having SP in change.
Come to think of it, there are a few skills where there can be benefits to having lower levels. The afterburner duration skill is one of them, before I trained it I could turn on an afterburner for one cycle to speed up my alignment (if I was already moving too fast in the wrong direction) and then turn it off to initiate the warp. Now that cycle takes so long that it isn't really practical to do. There is a drone speed skill that also has some negative aspects to higher levels I think as well.

Not going to happen. Don't even bother asking a GM, you'll just add to the queue of useless questions.
The only way to remove SPs is to repeatedly get yourself podded without a clone.
I recommend that you do this about 50 times. -- Ralara's Alt (due to Forum ban) |

I'm not prone to wondering f t f or being rude but I kind of hope your just trying to get a response. There is no advantage to removing skills your not currently using.
I guess we'd all be more than happy to let you give us the skill points you don't need but alas it's not a game feature. Somehow this post reminds me of the AT&T commercials and you don't like your milky SPs.
Just pretend they're not there, you'll be ok.

You Do know there's a option to turn off the highlighting on skills not fully trained, yes?
Turnt hat off, then they won't keep sticking out. If you don't notice them...
Problem solved.

If you really, really want to take off those skill points, you could get yourself podded without an updated clone and the skill points will be gone.
This could be like cutting your fingernails with a gun, so be careful. :)

Yeah because GM's removing SP from people could never be abused if they started doing it.

I'm with everyone else here: finish training the skill. Then it's nice and neat with "0" SP trained into the new level!
Or, get yourself podded without a clone. That will solve all those "dangly skillpoint" problems, and you come out of the experience without any nasty laser scorch marks or frostbite!

Getting yourself podded is the last thing to do to fix the leftover SP. When you get podded with no clone the SP deducted come from your skill with the most sp trained. This means that you would have to pod yourself back to noobdom in order to fix the problem, and since you can't go past 900k sp, then chances are that even after repeated podding there will still be a few partial skills. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |
