Not only the planets, the backgrounds also show their Age.
Alot of other objects could also need an update, PvE Structures in Missions and Explorations Sites and POS have also not been updated yet.

Alchemy is already in the game as of Quantum Rise.
That's me told.
*****-slapped by a dev, that's something you can look back on fondly.
I'm totally serious about this. How many of us can claim the same thing?

Originally by: Finnroth When you say final, does that mean that planets and backgrounds won't get a graphic overhaul? You are not by any chance already working on some form of planetary interaction and don't want to overhaul the whole planet stuff again at that point?
We are planning to redo nebulas/backgrounds in the March expansion as a part of completing the Renovation project.

I assume your doing something interesting with planets which pushes it out of the renovation project timeframe due to the amount of work involved.
Because otherwise you'd just be leaving one of the most important parts until later and that would be just plain silly.

Yes, whats the point of renovating planets, when planetary interaction expansion comes along in the next couple years?

If the release date were around two years away then renovating planets to not look quite so horrifically ugly compared to the rest of the premium content now would be a far better idea.
If they have something planned in the next year or so, something extensive that will be linked to a new mechanic or require new coding but not require more than a year, then pushing out a stop-gap improvement to the planets would be less justifiable.
Two years in the MMO industry is a long time.

Originally by: Finnroth How about the next Trinity Renovations? Like effects and such, will they be part of the march expansion?
Yes, the final round of the Renovation project (of which the Trinity expansion was the first) is planned for the March expansion. That includes all objects, and audio and visual effects. But not planets.
Badass! Finally, a schedule!
Edit: No planets?? WTF??? ...
