It's low lifes like you that Clog the Escrow making it next to impossible to find real items and now your Clogging the market with scams too. Your type of player takes the joy out of the game.

I don't have problems so much with overpriced items. They say what they are, and you get what you pay for, even if you pay way way too much.
What I have a problem with though is people putting up items in escrow, and naming them as something else.
This is fraud, and should be dealt with as such. Concord should not allow it. There should be some recourse against people doing it.
I know I know, check the item to make sure it's what it says it is. I do. That's why I've never fallen prey to this scam, but many others have, and the worst of it is that these jerk offs inflate the number of items in escrow so that it's even more unwieldy.
I did a search the other day, and over 90% of the ships were scams. I guess this is to be expected, because ships can be sold on the regular market, and any ship you see in escrow is automatically suspect, but there were dozens of them.
So come on CCP, at least make it so the escrow shows the actual item(s) and not whatever the scammer decides to write as a description.

Now really, all the people complaining about escrow scamming need to think twice. Before you buy, you can open the package to see what it is, and then even if you accept you get a popup warning asking you if you want to purchase x quantity of y item. Thats two levels of sa***uards against being scammed on ecrow which is enough.
What doesn need to be addressed on escrow is th fact that it gets spammed by alot of pretty useless items. e.g....
"Most expensive Pod Ever" for 1 billion Isk
pointless escrow like these mask all the other ones that you might want to purchase. Adding sub sections for mission will help somewhat in getting past the spamming.
The old conventional way of scamming through the trade window definately sucks but i agree its part of the game and if your going to have a free market system in Eve then you will have scammers.
What, perhaps, could be considered an exploit is people using the 10 day trial accounts to create an unlimited army of scamming alts. Thats not what the eve trial was intended for.
Basic rules you should always follow when trading with someone are:
1. Check their profile, if they are less than ten days old selling a 105 million tempest then alarms bells should start ringing straight away.
2. Check if they have a few positive or negative standings with npc corporations - If they are a main character then pretty much doing anything in eve be it agent whoring, rat killing, has an affect of your standings.
3. ALWAYS show info on the item your buying in a trade window before accepting.
Admittedly these rules dont apply to everyone, i personally know honest people who use alts for trading but at the very least you level of alertness should rise.

Not all over-pricing is an attempt to scam.
It is also about market manipulation. As well as selling items at the real price you expect it to sell for it is also useful to put a few on the market at extravagant prices in order to raise the average price.
I would not expect someone to be so careless as to buy the overpriced item and even if they did I would happily refund their isk.

my views are, high prices are ok, its like ppl have said.. the 60 million pod masquerading as scorpion or similar, wtf is going on with the escrows that a)have no description or b)have 0 stuff inside... these are the ppl that should banned from escrow by SCC. __________________________________________ 1.9 How can I participate in beta testing EVE? |

"Why would they do that? Scamming is a vital part of the overall gaming experience. Scamming is allowed by CCP,I have asked myself. Even Corp Theft is allowed."

Best quote, ever.
If you are so stupid that you don't check what you buy, you deserve to be scammed.
The only thing CCP should do is allow us to block/ignore certain sellers in escrow.
