what would you change at the UI? what needs to be changed?
combat? since weapon grouping everything is fine, you can have all active slots modules associated to F1-F8 the overviewfiltering gives you enough possibilities the context menu gives you enough options to do the most important combat commands
industry? oh man, do you want the blizzard crafting system?
so, if you think something is bad about the UI, then write it on the forums and hope that the dev's read. If you still want the customization, go back to WoW.

The Eve client is pretty much a "thin" client with graphics cached locally. I'm pretty sure that CCP isn't going to completely re-design their game engine for this or allow people to upload custom UIs to their servers.
And just think of how competitive the Eve world is; I'm also pretty sure that CCP doesn't want to deal with adding potential security holes in their UI by allowing players to customize it and potentially alter its programming

Suposidly there is allready work on revamping the current eve ui, least thats what i read somewere(cant rember were).
Currently eve's ui is decent, it does what its suposded to and gives you all the info you need in combat(as long as your set up right).
There wouldnt really be to many addons that would make eve's ui better, of course a group targeting thing would be nice(for massive fleet battles but think about how that could kill server performance)
Basicly opening up eve's ui to mods has the potential to undo all the work they have done to optomizing the eve client and nodes etc. They have allready gone quite far in letting you move around alot more of the ui, it is all moveable now and you can rearange everything.
With regards to the ingame mp3's player I know there was a fix for that once a few years ago, not sure it its still around or if its a 'legal'(eula) thing to do.
Basicly theres more important things for ccp to do to make eve so much better, the current work beeing done on the ui could infact be basicly what were asking for(not much info is really out there ) as well as there would be to many holes opened for anyone to try and exploit(just look at the pos thing, it WAS around for years)

UI modifications are against EULA in EVE and get you banned. Thus they are not acceptable.
