Imagine the possibility, I could park all my mining ships at one pos in a neat little row and hop on one whenever I need it and have the other ones sitting majestically at my personal pos

Bump.
Anyone else have ideas about how we could make this better? (I mean it's already awesome but why not while we're trying to keep the thread alive.)

We can anchor cans in space, why not ships?

anchoring lvl 4 would be a required skill, if not even anchoring lvl 5 (you gotta have that for POS things, why not ships)

ALL SHIPS should be able to be anchored in space, using the anchoring skill. You ship flying out of the POS when you log off is just plain ridiculous.
Many times the stuff that you'd useually put your ship in, may be unavailable as it's someone else's POS you are storing your ship in.
This should be done yesterday!

I dont like the idea of just ejecting ship, right clicking anchor...
Therefore i come with some constructive critisism.
Why not a good ol' fashioned mooring-bay-thingy which is allready anchored at the POS?
Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.
They got mooring thingies in Freelancer for the larger ships, why not steal that idea, its a neat one
I know there is allready ship maintenance arrays for this but they need too much powergrid on a small POS and the ship cant be locked in it anyways.
Now the difference would be that with a mooring bay the ship would be only parked and locked (like a bike stand). The mooring array is only for locking ships to it, it doesnt have any of the capabilities of the "store vessel" (no cargospace) mechanism, only a bike stand, as mentioned.
A Captital ship maintenance array is more in the ways of a garage where u can park your bike and lock it up and store it there and its got a roof over its head.
So i'd say: CCP add the Capital ship mooring array/bay and complement the ship maintainance array with some sort of code lock or binding to a specific person instead of it being available to every corpmember with acess to the array. |

this idea has been remade over and over and over again.
yet i do agree with locking capital ships is great plan i think locking all ship that is not a shuttle or newb ship.
i think super caps should be able to link to the outside of station and it is locked.
the super caps should take on the invunerability of the station it links to so any attack to titan is an attack on station
but!!!
if a super cap wants to link to a station it must be friendly or have sovernty over station the super caps are limited to linking as per sovernty level so if you have sovernty level 3 then station can hold 3 links to capitals
i think maybe to access ships lock code you must be in space so you will be required to undock in pod or in a ship then access your super cap and tranfer ships. then you will begin an unlink proccess that takes possibly as long as a cyno field locs up its ship. |

Anchoring at POS's only in Low to Nulls sec, and to be honest a mooring beacon or something similar should be the way to do it. |

Why expand it out to smaller ships when you can make it even bigger!
I want my own, private solar system, with a single star gate and a password lock to it. Can I have that? -- If there is anything in your life you fear of losing, then keep your mouth shut once in a while. |

Totally! Having a small sized corp with new members joining once a week or so... Everyone knows u can't trust anyone in this game. Parking a ship within the active shield should allow password protection on ship especially when in ship hanger.

hmm ive put a little thought into this as i just came across it and i was thinking maybe instead of ejecting from it and then anchoring it have just a process where you right click your ship ->secure-> offline and anchor ship which would take a longer amount of time depending on your ship class or just anchor ship which would make it easier to probe out and bot versions put a password on it which would take a lesser amount of time im tired right now but tomorrow is my day off so ill clean this post up when i wake up |

Originally by: CommanderData211 i agree. all ships really should be able to be password protected. the hacking idea is a good one too, but it should be a time consuming process, but there should also be a warning system, like a car alarm. would give you a chance to get to something and destroy it. rises the potentiality of baiting as well. you'd have to be really careful about stealing the ship.
I positively love the idea of someone spending twenty minutes trying to hack my megathron and podding in at the last minute jumping behind the controls and blasting the ever living **** out of them with my neutrons. ;)
