I don't care honestly if it never comes out but for those who do, it would have been good PR for CCP to make an official statement that it has been delayed/shelved/abandoned or whatever. Even if they say the release date is sometime this century, it would be something. Silence gives rise to speculation of vapourware as it is already doing and that doesn't do a companies reputation any favours.
It had also better be a voluntary patch similar to the premium graphics. I am not going to be amused if I'm suddenly expected to download a 500mb+ patch one day before I can even log in, especially if I'm on a laptop with a mobile internet dongle just to change skills at work one night.

Patches are announced well in advance. Don't set a skill that needs changing on patch day!
