Edited by: TimMc on 02/01/2009 11:53:42 Cause you know USA is the centre of the universe, and all things should be optimal for their fun.
Next Aussies will want a fanfest down there. Fanfests are exhausting for CCP employees, so I think one is enough for them.
Edit: And I've been to the Georgia offices, they aren't that big for a fanfest... they are offices with a backroom with pool tables and other trademark CCP stuff.

Originally by: Mechwing I know I know, before you read this. I don't want to replace the Fanfest in Iceland. What I am asking is have another Fanfest or a down scaled Fanfest for the USA players.
Being a low brow American, perhaps I misunderstood the OP when he said he did not want to REPLACE the current Fanfest.
Or maybe I am not so oxygen starved I can read the d**n thing unlike those posters on the tall European marble pedestals of self-righteousness, claiming unfairness to have an additional event stateside.
It wouldn't have the same feel. Its like taking the Olympics out of Greece so they become a political bull**** tool and end up being a huge money sink... oh wait...

Originally by: Deviana Sevidon I am against another Fanfest. There is a hard physical limit on the amount of alcohol that even the liver of a CCP staff member can take and I would fear the worst for their health.

Originally by: Thea Arsoniztik I see the pros and cons, but I would absolutely love it if there was an Atlanta fanfest. CCP has an office there, so why not?

I would go as far as saying that people suggesting having Fanfest in Atlanta never actually been to Atlanta, or haven't set foot outside of the airport. It's nasty down there. If there is an argument against having a Fanfest in US, it's the location. People in their right mind do not voluntarily go to Atlanta!
Now, we could do Florida, and pick places like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando... or, since it's late 2009, New York City, and let's make it somewhere around upper west side, so i don't have to drive.
Therefore... you want CCP employees to leave their Iceland HQ AND their Atlanta offices... to some random location that has no relation to the game... spending alot of money and their time.... destroying their livers... just so you don't have to apply for a passport and pay for a ticket to Iceland (probably one of the coolest places to visit in the world).
