Currently once thier in they stay in
what are your thoughts on making them removable, with restrictions of course.
i.e To remove an implant takes 2 weeks during which time the benefit of the implant becomes unavaibale. after two weeks the implant pops out into your inventory.
thoughts ?

I was thinking of making it a profession or service of sorts, lets say some level 4 agents are able to do it and only those who have done lots of missions for them can provide it as a service. Implant removal/swapping would be instant, or at least won't take very long, but you'd have to go to someone that has an agent that can provide the service.

I don't like it. You're talking a huge drop in price in implants. Its a major deal now for an agent to give out an implant missions. You'll simply take that excitment away.
The only reason to take it out anyway would be if you found a better implant and now you wanted money for the one you bought or achieved thru agents... or if you were headed to 0.0 and there was a good chance you'd die. Either way, it makes the implant just another market item.
Right now implants are special, and you'll just be taking that away. Having implants destroyed when removed makes you make that difficult decision whether to use them or not.
BAD IDEA

To prevent an exploit. You would have to make it to where you can only remove the implants if you're not training anything. áSo you would have to stop training before the implant can be removed. Once the implant is out, you can resume training at the longer training time.
Having to wait 2 weeks to remove them would be a little extreme though.

i think that when they are removed, instead of getting destroyed they lose one point
ie: a +3 becomes a +2, etc
that way the implant prices wont suffer too much ~~~~)\~~~~~\o/~~~~
yeah but no but yeah but no but |

The BEST solution is to make them insurable. That way the implant market will still survive and you don't stand to lose as much when you get podded.

implants (and some of the rarer meta mods) are the only real risk items in eve
making them less than that will encase every1 in bubble wrap with the only risk being you forgot to pay ship insurance
