it will hurt to loose my thorax and loose the only good pirating cruiser :(, but maybe i can find another baby, or try it with 8 medium drones now, with the changes the might be good too
i dont think the maller needs another boost, as tomB stated the thorax should be the most destructive ship with blaster and giving the maller rof bonus will be insane, it can already do great damage with lasers (thy rule atm, as we know) and maybe 3% armor bonus would be ok, but 5% were just too much

I don't know were you get that its the most damaging cruiser either because the blasters don't hit for crap, My caracel is a mucg better close combat ship able to tank a ton of damage and deal a ton of damage.
a thorax with blasters and drones kills everything atm which has not enough cruise missles or torps to defend. at 1km you can just pound an enemy BS with blasters and frigs will die thx to the 8 wasps you carrieng.

why adding a velocity bonus to caracal? with missles changes missles should be faster after all and missles velocity bonus pretty much sucks
