I'd second that, and add Stalker.
Tbh, im far more of a cinema nerd than a game nerd, and a bit of a snob about films too. But if your asking for a film to watch which is just, y'know, fun and cool, i'd say Point Break, or Near Dark.

I have seen it four times, the most recent times I watched it with friends twice over a weekend and we had fun working out the timeline. We got most of it. The pause button and some coins helped with explaining the spoiler.

I can't really say what my absolute favourite is, I simply cannot pick one, However, I do very much enjoy Event Horizon. I realise that it may be an unpopular choice but I just enjoy it somehow, I generally hate watching things twice but Event Horizon is one of the few films I can watch again and again (Albeit with a period of some months between viewings).

hmm.. the fountain probably..
a pretty emotional movie and it is indeed great to watch with a girl.. but it's also in general quite profound and filled with beautiful sounds and imagery, both dark and sinister aswell as beautiful calm and profound. |

I know, for me it kind of ruins it since you know that no matter what everything is going to be okay in the end (or at least the main character will)... what's the big deal with living happily ever after anyways?

I am utterly shocked, sir!I thought I was the only one who loved this film so much. The Fountain, despite it's flop is one of the most impressive films of all time. The play on emotions makes my heart overflow and I can't help but cry everytime I watch it. Hugh and Rachel showed that they are magnificent actors, both are, of course, stage actors as is evident by their sublime performance.
Other than this grand masterpiece there are many.
Sci-Fi Bladerunner Empire Strikes Back The Matrix (all three) T2
Drama English Patient The Heavenly Forest American History X The Devil's Advocate Syriana
Action Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs Crying Freeman Heat
Horror Ringu
Anime Ghost in the Shell
There are so many films I like and love that I can't name them all and there are some I won't put down here as I do not want this to turn into some stupid political discussion. |

I don't watch many movies, or even much tv, so i don't really know what's out there. It's also nice to hear of movies from different countries.

Edward Scissorhands The Dark Knight In The Realms of the Unreal (a documentary about Henry Darger) The Dark Crystal Arabian Nights (the made-for-tv mini series) Pans Labyrinth The 13th Warrior Sweeney Todd AI Chronicles of Narnia (the BBC mini series special, not the movies) Berserk (anime) Red Dwarf (tv series) The Venture Bro. (tv series) The Mist (it's actually very faithful to the Stephen King short story)
