I haven't read any posts on the Machariel since QR.
Does this mean it's not as good for PvP as it used to be

Since you can't nano it anymore, its just a tempest +1low. A pest with +1 low is not worth 900m.

not that its exactly the same, but a tempest +1 mid is barly worth 280m.

Having fought and lost about 5 Machariels in PvP, and experimenting with other faction BS, I can say that it was the best PvP faction bs before the horrible speed nerf.
Now, tank+gank setups rule for battleships, and Mach isn't the best at that. It's not good enough to have a mediocre speed advantage over other battleships. CCP simply made speed tactics non-viable. |

Before the speed nerf, a nuet / cruise mach at 27km/sec was unkillable!
Now however, its just a big tempest. It tanks fine, but the dps, even with 3 damage mods, is such a joke, that I suicided mine to just get rid of it. A horrible ship atm, and in need of much love!

Threads like this make me glad I use my machariel in PvE and not PvP. At least there it's only suffered about a 23% loss of speed. |
