Originally by: Qordel Right, that's what is unclear to me as well. I thought that applied across the board to the client. Even if it does, then that is still a full year for people to get up to par and SM3 isn't exactly a high requirement. If it's SM2, however, then the whines are even more ridiculous.
Well, by the sounds of it, it's SM2 minimum for march 10, and then SM3 minimum for winter 2009. Across the board, all clients, no exceptions.
The sm2 part isn't that insane tbh, dropping support for video cards older then 6 years only seems logical to keep developing new shiny graphics. SM3 is from 2004-2005, and I can see people still hanging on to their 4 year old pc that was AWEZOME back in the days. Hell, I just upgraded from an FX5200 a year back... |

I doubt any pc users are truely complaining as even someone with only built in graphics and pci slots can get a pci bus dx10 sm4 card. Laptop users with older or non-gaming gpus are the ones who are going to be annoyed as eve is one of the only modern commercial games that can run on literally anything that can display 16bit color @ 1024x768. But alas I remember with sadness when two tears ago I finally was forced to drop my athlonxp 2000+, ati 9600xt agp card with 1 gig pc3600 ram running on windows 98se for my current system. Now that was milking the cow down to the udder last drop tbqfh. |

The awfull Vaga model in Premuim is ample reason to keep the classic client.

Can we have Eve Market Edition?
Everything is drawn with ship outlines, planets shown as spheres and the purpose is for nothing else than market orders, AFK piloting at school and running Eve on a Flash stick.

While I like classic fine, it's time to move on. And if the EVE Devs are going to support two sets of software, I would rather they support the regular EVE client and a multi-platform skillchanger/market/chat app for smartphones/iphones/portableapps.
